Take out your stamps and/or artisan patches and destroy those. It's unlikely you'll ever need either of those again. Then put in your keys.
Or turn in the keys if those for three years discontinued currencies are so important to you.

The premium currency pouch has 8 slots available. Oddments basically got permanently one occupied, most players also will have heartments und h'oddments from their respective promotions, which currently are supposed to be re-run every year. Five left. Currently from temporary promotions, events and mixes of those you can have wrapping paper and yak coins. Three left. And now players have kept leftovers from the past - stamps (discontinued for over three years), artisan patches (discontinued for over three years) and raffle tickets (discontinued for a year, but that one basically
could
return, since it also paused for a year in the past) the pouch is full.
This cap never was an issue before, but they currently have so many promotions/events/... running at the same time, that this happened. Solution is easy enough - Jagex has to delete those currencies they'll never use again and compensate players with a few coins or oddments. No matter how neurotic the reactions of some members of the community could be (I mean - they basically did that with yet another three years discontinued currency in the past...).
For now players need to get rid of them themselves if they got all three kinds, which I personally would recommend - do not take the raffle ticket, it's more likely to return than the stamps or the patches.

I have more than enough premium currency slots to store the Pirate's Keys.
Anyway, if you can't add the Pirate's Key to the currency pouch because of the other premium currencies, you can take them out but
DON'T DESTROY THEM
as most (if not all) of them can be stored in our bank.

I had to destroy a key because I couldn't bank it, which blocked me from withdrawing my preset for a wilderness flash event.
I cleared out some space after, but I am definitely willing to sell Jagex some artisan patches, holiday oddments or raffle tickets if they are interested.

If you removed oddments to free up a currency slot and banked them, you wouldn't have to destroy a key. Perhaps next time when you got a key you should do it this way.
Why did you want to destroy a key anyway? You could have just added it to Frank's Chest.
TBH I thought I added enough information in my post that I wouldn't be asked to explain further. But I can.
I logged in with just enough time to suit up and go to the wilderness event. If I had done anything further I would have missed out on part of the rewards.
I knew that, and some quick math said I should go to the event and figure everything else out later.
Which I did. And now I have lots of space for April Fools oddments and anything else Runescape has in mind.
