Thought I might try this Wildy Flash Event thing. Spoke to the 2 NPC's told about an evil tree 'west of loadstone'.
Walked up towards outside volcano went west, lots of things wanted a bit of me but no evil tree event. Nothing showed on world map. No helpful hints in forums.
Clan members say its safe event but not sure, can't tell as I never found it.

Is it a glorified bug?

Another made by those who know used by those who don't.

I visited a 'crashed star' event once. I saw no crashed star and no map markers.

I just stood there for a minute or two watching other people kill demons. Nothing and nobody attacked me, nor did I do any attacking (I had no equipment).

The Crashed Star event is a two-parter that has a second half where we have to kill Pyrefiends after the Star is mined; it sounds like you were too late for the Star part.

Evil Bloodwood Tree spawns on the West of the Wilderness Lodestone:

https://runescape.wiki/w/Wilderness_Flash_Events#Evil_Bloodwood_Tree

If you didn't find it there after getting the message from global broadcast and/or the event NPCs, you either went there too early, or too late.

Remember, all Wilderness Flash Events run only in a 5 minute time window every hour.

Is there something that's just ingrained in most Runescape players that they simply refuse to use the freaking RS Wiki? It provides all of the information necessary for each of the Wildy events, including precise locations, for at least every day since it was first added to the game.

It does everything short of physically carrying you over their shoulder and depositing you at the site for the event.

the wiki usually starts with what jmod tells it. thats why it has info so soon sometimes, or info no player could have... like stats for items made from materials that take weeks to collect. they protect what they think is "exploration content" by leaving info out sometimes.

wiki contributing players have updated the wildy flash page like a hundred times in two weeks, and tbf they have done a really nice job this time, but... the wiki is not quite -in- the game, and its a valid concern from newer players that they felt misled, and then lost.

the most trumpeted spreadsheet warriors, the ones self elected, and showering themselves in praises in every space... I showed a screenie of 250 wildy flash done for runescore, and they... wanted to spam/shill advice about getting a monkey pet from riding a bike. when it made me mad they all spammed "wut" and "hunh?" til I left the spaces permanently. what happened there is that they felt challenged to have not done the thing "
first
!," and they were making racket/bait to make me mad. acheivement unlocked, I guess, but they failed to notice I was already mad.

my first, best, runescape player friend, a p mod no less, quit this game after wiki people replied "hoax!" when she found the very first blue gorilla skull. those people are high maintenance, and if you ever want them to update something you HAVE TO suggest how they can find it, and then they are REALLY quick to report that they did something. boy howdy.

nothing about where kbd shows up to stand in his spot is a "rampage" as I imagined he might stomp around in a circle in wildy and require a hunt... like... oh... idk... HOWBOUT THE BIG WILDY WYRM that behaves like that!?

a lot of wildy flash does feel non sequitur. like it came from hands that never had control of a big wildy wyrm to attack players.

the OP has many good points, and I do NOT blame her for not wanting to use the wiki right away. She came to explore the content as intended.
I have quit rsof because moderator found comments about darklight bonus damage on demons "off topic" for wildy flash mobs full of demons

Jagex has improved the info and visibility of the Wilderness Flash Events today:

"Broadcast is now displayed whenever a Wilderness Flash Event starts, as well as five minutes beforehand.

Broadcasts for members-only Wilderness Flash Events no longer show on free-to-play worlds.

The World Map icons for Wilderness Events now show five minutes before the event starts.

Location hints for some Wilderness Flash Events have been made clearer."

It should be really clear where the Flash Events will take place 5 minutes beforehand from just looking at the chat channels and World Map now.

Where did you go to? If you mean the Infernal Star event, it should be the north east of the eastern Chaos Temple, but there should be no demons for people to attack.

The Infernal Star Events won't bring us demons either. You will have to fight pyrofiends for the 2nd phase of the events if you want rewards for that part too. However, it is fine just to mine the Star to get rewards for the 1st phase.
