Actually, OP has a point.

There is nothing in the rules (
https://www.jagex.com/en-GB/terms/rules-of-runescape
) stating that you are not allowed to trade RS GP for Game-X GP. It only states "
Real World trading (RWT) means buying or selling in the real world, for real money, things that relate to Jagex accounts
".

Technically, there is no real world money being transferred. Technically it is all virtual GP. Technically, if a player were to make this trade, it does not go against the rules of RuneScape - as per the wording in the link provided.

Of course, it's up to Jagex's discretion, and they will always ban you if they find you to be guilty. So in this sense, it doesn't matter what the rules say. Jagex are the referee, and what the referee says, goes.

However, to make the rules lock-tight, it may be worthwhile changing the "real money" wording to "alternative money", or "non-Jagex game money". After all, one could argue Crypto is not real money either, thus may be a loophole around the rules as they stand at this moment.

"You agree that when you obtain your Virtual Currencies and/or Micro-Game Credits from us or our authorized partners, you receive a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and select the rights and entitlements that Jagex expressly makes available to you associated with such Virtual Currencies and/or Micros-Game Credits and only in respect of the applicable Jagex Product. The Virtual Currencies and/or Micro-Game Credits are licensed to you and not sold. Any license granted is subject to your strict compliance with these Terms."

We only get a "license to use the virtual currencies", they aren't sold to us. We don't own the pixels so we aren't allowed to sell them.

... '
things that relate to Jagex accounts
' ... pretty much sums it all up for the rest.

That people/players do not wish to read it properly, but wanna twist it in a thousand ways, they will soon find out once an investigation is ended and they are still banned permanent, losing their account.

Indeed, this sums up the Jagex property side of the trade. However, the other side of the trade only states "
for real money
".

OP is arguing that this is open to interpretation, and I somewhat agree. However, we know that our interpretation does not matter - only Jagex's interpretation is taken into account when it comes to banning rulebreakers.

As Dilbert has pointed out:

"You agree that when you obtain your Virtual Currencies... you receive a personal, limited,
non-transferable
,license" to them.

NON-TRANSFERABLE.

That means you can't swap them for items/currencies in other games, even if no real world money is involved.

Honestly, if you have to nitpick the precise wording in an attempt to do something so obviously against the spirit of the rules, you already know it's wrong.
