Do Americans tend to give out more candies (hardboiled, literally made of sugar, that kind of stuff) or chocolate? Not that H'ween is all that big here, but we most often give out chocolate as opposed to candy.
I think it depends on the area and how much money the homeowner wants to spend. In my city, the houses up north hand out king size chocolate bars such as Reese's, Twix, Kit Kat's, Snickers, and even dollars! Other houses hand out the less desirable candy such as Mike & Ike's, Lemonheads, Fireballs, and Swedish Fish. When I was younger I even ran into houses that handed out apples, raisins and candy corn.

I buy lollipops - Chupa Chups, they have the wrappers secure which i like, plus they are yummy to suck, I only like one flavour -strawberry and cream. This year they had three different flavoured packets which was cool so I brought four packets of eight, and I think we only had around eight lollipops left this year.
