What item are you trying to use? If an item has a left click of use, then after you click on that, you then have to click on what you want to use it on. For example left click "use" on an herb in your inventory and then click on a vial of water you want to add it to.

Although it is Friday and I so want to post a nice happy fun picture to brighten up everyones day but I'm lost for words.
