I always thought it was hubcaps, wheels, complete cars, anything that wasn't nailed down. When I stayed in Liverpool many years ago (it was Garston actually) there was a minor local outbreak of women's undergarment pilfering from washing lines. It wasn't me though.

I hadn't realized sock theft was a thing, my education continues.

Erm, i read about this in the local newspaper i believe, thats how i knew the exact pattern and types of asda's own mini briefs and matalan underwired bra sets

captcha is broken lol, walkways..., you tick the 4 walkways..., nope, wrong lol, buses, you tick 3 of the 4 buses you see but decide to not tick the square that although you see part of a bus, if u tick it, you know it will be wrong so you dont tick it " but you know there is a bus in that square" and it passes as correct lol.
