There is no information on the Jagex websites that OSRS player base is bigger than that of RS3. It may only show "online players" numbers. Neither can we find anything on Jagex website that "OSRS got the edge over RS3", except that we know RS3 has a big edge over OSRS in revenue growth. Im sure those imaginary 100k-ish "online players" will pop up to save the day but who cares as OP didn't even ask for it and no players even care if OSRS is dying when they are happily minding their own business playing their own fond RS3.
It is with simple maths, but then again you need the minimum brain power to do the calculus. Thus resulting in the crystal clear result that OSRS player base is bigger than that of RS3.
100k out of 5 millions = 2%. Yes, it is simple math. Online players represent just leftover for a game with millions of active players like RS3.
Yes the current active player base of RS3 is a leftover compared to that of OSRS, we can see that on the official websites.
ROFL!!! If the active player base of OSRS Is just the 100k-ish "online players" then it is absolutely leftover to RS3 which has millions of active players recognized by even real world regulators.

Wrong, the OSRS active player base is way higher than that of RS3. Right now there are 109k people playing OSRS and only 28k people playing RS3, not at all that delusional millions number. The absolute regulator, are the official jagex websites. OSRS active player base isx4-x5 higher than that of RS3.

Those are just online players. We have millions of active players in RS3. I am not sure about OSRS though. It may have similar number too so I won't just talk trash about it.

Online players are active players and OSRS has way more active players than RS3.

Online players aren't real number of active players. This is part of the answer to OP's question.
We can ask real world regulators etc for it. No point to argue.
RS3 has million of active players, not just "30-35k" as somebody misrepresented it.
Thats as delusional as it can gets, or theres another case of flawed logic. If they play they are active, simple as that. If RS3 has that millions of player, we can see them on the official websites. More players actively play OSRS than RS3, making OSRS player base bigger than that of RS3, as the official websites show.

I am not logged in RS3 now so by your flawed logic I am not active. This is not the actual meaning of active players. I played just an hour ago and I paid membership. Don't tell me and the real world regulators I am not an active player of RS3.

Whether you are online or not, the OSRS player base is bigger than that of RS3, as we can see from the official websites, at any point in time. OSRS player base is about x4-x5 bigger than that of RS3.
I am not online now still means I am an active player, and to Jagex I am not just an active player, I am a more important active player as I paid them than some one who login 24/7, especially when they don't pay.
Your definition of "active players" is just flawed and totally unreal number, to Jagex, the game industry, and regulators.

Believing that you are more important than other players proves the delusional point, but also shows that there are far greater troubles in this regard. Anyway as we can easily check and see via the official websites, the OSRS player base is way bigger than that of RS3, about x4-x5 bigger.
