Does the slash, stab, crush attack style of a weapon still apply when you use abilities such as ‘assault’ or ‘fury’. Here for soul.

Abilities and weakness are independent.

Most mobs still have weakness, regardless what abilities you use. For instance, Abyssal Beasts are weak to slash.
