Anybody know when will we see the next RS3 roadmap?

I know pretty much the Misthalin storylines will start us early in the new year, but what about the details and timeline?

I know about the new Rex Matriarch boss and the associated quest, Daemonheim Digsite, the 450th QP quest which should be something special and rewarding. New Gemstone. Four new clue scrolls, Community Hitlists etc.

We don't know about the status of Avatar Refresh yet. It is nice to know. We do have other character refresh projects, especially human model customization in the making though.

Do you think we will have an end of the year Message from Mod Keeper, with a sneak peek preview into the first half of next year?

There's usually a year-end message with a very general overview of what might be coming in the new year. Just be patient.

And if there isn't, well... nothing wrong with being surprised!

Rest assured, we love surprises in RS3, so this format of roadmap release RS3 applied in December of last year is pretty good:

https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/2023-sneak-peek-reveals

It was very good as it gradually showed us a little bit info on the upcoming updates each day with their timelines we players could expect to play them, while not giving up all the details like what items with what stats we would get, or who would die in the Murder at the Border quest and such.

I'll like to see something similar this year, perhaps even the name of a quest or two like s."Murder" at the "Border" could spark the theorycrafting interest of the classic MMORPG player. :)

Original message details are unavailable.
Still no roadmap for 2024 published... I wonder why Jagex is waiting so long for this.

Perhaps Jagex want to announce their GIM-like "unannounced survival game" or the full global release of SCUM including console launch first, so GIM may have many choices in many other games.

I'll rather see what we have in Jagex's existing Runescape games on their 2024 Roadmaps ASAP as there will hardly be any real "surprises" like console release, port to new and more powerful game engine like UE5, global launch and localization to penetrate major foreign markets like the Asian, Russian and Spanish speaking communities etc next year.

We will see Jagex's early 2020s initiatives and their M&A investments in new games and new studios come into surprise fruitions after 3+ years of speak softly and carry a big stick behind the scene development. However, Rome wasn't built in a day, such imperative and dominating surprises won't happen as quick in 2024 RS3 though.

The earliest we can see RS3 on consoles etc will most probably come in 2025. We'll still be enjoying very high quality storytelling episodic expansion-like content in the Misthalin and Age of Chaos questlines as usual though. But this is perfectly fine for a forever game like RS3 built to outlast all the pretenders that may not even live to see 2025 though. I am not expecting "huggggeeee" (TM) one-off surprises that last just a few days for RS3 in 2024, just the usual expansion-like storytelling content they have been able to deliver year after year will be just fine.
