I think many players actually spent more money on Runescape membership than they spent on console games,
*cough* here we go again.
Yes sry dilbert you did say this again can you show us this proof.
I already answered the question the person I replied to on Page 1, Post 9. Please don't twist the question especially when you are not the person I replied to. If you don't get it, this is my last comment replying directly to you regarding this topic. I have no other comments to add and no more reply to you, otherwise it will just be spamming the same thing over and over again.
"Studies suggest that gaming disorder affects only a small proportion of people who engage in digital- or video-gaming activities. However, people who partake in gaming should be alert to the amount of time they spend on gaming activities, particularly when it is to the exclusion of other daily activities, as well as to any changes in their physical or psychological health and social functioning that could be attributed to their pattern of gaming behaviour. "
OP, and whoever self-proclaimed "addicts" to games and gaming related activities who happen to come to the RSOF and discuss on this thread, the World Health Organization has good advice for you. Be careful with the pattern of the gaming behaviours. Don't do the same thing repetitively in games, and try to pay more attntion to daily activities.
That said, if you think you are "addictive" to playing games 4 hours a day and 6 hours on the weekend, perhaps you can try to scale down the time you stay in the game. For instance, if you think you have a problem spending money on games that you need to grind 4 hours a day for 2 months, then perhaps try something else like pay another game for free with daily activities like you can just log and spend a couple of minutes to get a few Letters to Santa and collect some nice free gifts daily.
You should also try to learn from your bad experiences and remind yourself fruitless "addiction", especially with real money spent, is absolutely not worth it to your wallet and your health. For instance, after grinding 4 hours a week for 2 full months and still fail to reach your goal in a paid gaming activity, then you should learn and pivot to something else or some other games.
You can also spend a few healthy gaming minutes killing a couple of RS3 Vorkath if you like, but don't forget the IRL activities you may want to spend more time on.

Like always the forums forbid to put up medical help here.
You should always get professional help.
I fully support this, because there are a hell lot rumor things without or with false claims.
We are no medical staff and even if there are medical people in the forums they would say the same do not search the web for treatment.

I was addicted to gains and showing off to friends, hardly the case now. most of my childhood mates already moved on. it isnt the same vibe back 2005-2010 era.
Regretfully almost my friends back in the 2005-2010 era have moved on to modern, non-grindy games, especially free to play ones too, understandably,
Oh yes, even if my old school friends were still here, I would have nothing to show off to them as we can buy fast xp gain like herblore, and almost all tradeable items like Twisted Bow and Bow of the Last Guardian because of Bond MTX. I have no way to show off anything at all so grinding for life "addictions" have nothing to show off in the end. I can't pretend there is no MTX as everybody can go look at the Jagex Launcher screen and tell us muhhahahaha "no MTX (TM)"? you are so full of it. As I can't convince anybody I didn't pay to win or buy account service, and thankfully so, it also means it freed me to be a grinding for nolife "addict".
