So earlier I asked a question about VPNs and someone said it's ok as long as it doesn't always change but I use a free VPN and it constantly changes I don't know why like not constantly but maybe 2-3 times a day, I didn't test it after the first time it changed I just stopped using it all together but now I want to start using a VPN again so I kinda need some crystal clear guidelines in regards to VPNs maybe from a mod or something.

I am using the Jagex account and all my characters are linked to 1 account but my main is on a different one so they should all be on the same VPN IP address when I turn it on right? Then when the IP switches they'll all switch to that one, I just don't want to get banned but there isn't really any clear rules in regards to VPN that I can find anyways, any help would be appreciated.

Free VPN's are a risk.

You are far better off using a paid for VPN as it's much more secure.

Have a look at the deals Nord VPN https://nordvpn.com/

They have a 68% off deal with 3 Months free.

If you follow a few people on YouTube they often have a offer on where Nord support their videos and give you an even better deal.

Free VPN's are rubbish to be fair they log everything and sell your Data to others. Thats how they make their money. Be cautious there as its a risk.

Good luck though.

I once hardflashed my PS3 so I could use Aimbot online so I honestly don't think a free VPN is more risky than that but that's not what I'm concerned about I'm more concerned about getting banned and you didn't really answer that question, I'm looking for a Mod to answer that question anyways because I need to know for sure because if there's a mod saying it's a ban risk then obviously I'll go with the paid version instead lol

Original message details are unavailable.
Oh you are a Mod LOL my bad ok so I am at risk of a ban if I use a free VPN just to be perfectly clear?

lol. Yes you won't get banned for using a VPN even if it's free.

1000's use them while playing RS.

The risk comes with using a FREE VPN that sell your details. Thats all I'm saying.

I'd rather pay for a VPN that does not log or sell your details. ;)

To add to what Tuffty said...

You can increase your chances of not getting banned (or locked out because of apparent country hopping) by using an authenticator to prove that you are each time your IP changes.

Hey, MineMinero.

Just adding the information below as it hasn't been mentioned :) .

There is nothing malicious nor against the rules in using a reputable VPN to play RuneScape; however, there are two potential issues that you may come across if you embark on this path:

1) You may be flagged for rule-breaking IF you utilize a VPN that's known to be used by rule-breakers. This means that it's highly recommended to do some research on VPNs to ensure that you don't get mislabeled as a rule-breaker. Usually, the free VPNs are the ones that cause an issue, but always make sure before you continue. You should consider using a paid VPN service to avoid such conflicts.

2) Your digital record with Jagex may be non-existent . This means that if you EVER have to recover your account -- for whatever reason(s) -- it may be impossible to do so as VPNs do not allow Jagex to create nor maintain a digital record of your account. With that being said, ensure that your account is completely secured -- See Security tips -- to avoid the possibility of ever having to try to recover your account.

Other than the above, as long as you are careful, your gameplay shouldn't be affected :) .
