I thought it meant "New World Order."
Most of what happens in Soul Wars goes over my head now, as I seldom play it.
My clan and I are just not centered on SW anymore, since most of our guys are combat maxed now, and I am just not that interested in cb.
Never had the opportunity to play for or against NWO, so have no clue what they are like.

nou/swa manage to win for a few hours durning the early morning hours 4am-7am US central time. Wins for them 4pm-12am us time are rare and usually involve a hit and hop strat, because that 1 hit we are leeched with half of us still in the pen. if/when they stay for the 2nd game they get leeched and we win.
More often than not we are on 97 8pm-12am us central time winning/tieing vs nou.
Yes, unless jagex fixes soulwars it looks like it will die.
