hmm i have not seen this roll playing topic come up before.. its something to think about.
But, since its a roll playing game, I think all players can choose exactly what role to play. they can choose to use medieval language and play the role of a medieval person, or they can choose to play the role of a player chilling at home in 2012 and playing a game.
It is the job of the game designers to make players feel like they are in a certain setting, so they can start role playing that way. but a game can be fun even if the designers fail that.

Roleplaying has always been within this game. There are some clans dedicated to the roleplaying days so much, that they actually have a game within the game, heightening their Runescape Experiences tenfold.
The Game is what you make of it, it's easy to create different worlds and atmospheres within rs. =)

I'm getting picked apart by school atm. Been focusing on that and getting an internship for the summer. Get my # from Dawn or Will if you wanna talk outside of the random time you decide to come on/the random time I decide to come on.
