NOTE: These words are not my own. They are the words of one of the Greatest Legends ever to walk upon the RSB and the message these words hold were left behind for all RSBians to gain knowledge of.
Thus in the words of Lev himself "Enjoy!"

-taps mic-
Is this thing on?
Good...
Hello RSB, and welcome to my 1st thread here in a LONG time, but this is important...
Now, amidst all the squabbles and grief here, let me bring up a VERY important point that MANY of you have CLEARLY overlooked...
What is Runescape?
Now, in reading that question, some of you said "just a game", some said "MMORPG" and some said "Role-Playing".
Perhaps there are other responses, but I'm sure the 3 listed are the dominant...
Now, if you think it's "just a game", I think you should "just" play elsewhere, where you are not affecting other people.
That and perhaps it would be easier to grasp the concept of "just" games than it is to grasp Runescape.
If you said "MMORPG" then you are technically correct, but failed to realize the core in that acronym...
What is Runescape?
Well, cut out all the rest, and you have "Role-Playing".
That is to say that you can be and do whatever you want, as long as it fits the role you choose.
Since these are midievel times, your list of cuss words should be severely limited, you should fear being hanged for treason, and the word "noob" doesn't exist...
So, my advice is: KNOW YOUR ROLE!
Let there be rivalries, alliances, empires,
clans, conflict, etc, but remember, these are NOT personal matters!

How many D&D players get overly upset because they didn't get what they were hoping for, or died?
Heh, the answer is a VERY low, if not non-existent number.
Why?
Because it takes mentality to play an RPG.
It's not about killing stuff, making friends, or seeing who has the most xp.
These are just bonuses.
It's REALLY about absorbing yourself in a role, and having fun fulfilling it...
Until you get this down, you'll never appreciate RS, or any game like it...
I walk around using "noble speech" and people are like "are you English?", "what?", "talk normal", etc etc...
They don't know why I'm saying what I say, and why I use the dialect I choose...
It's very sad...
Perhaps Jagex should make a section called "Role-Playing for Begginers"...
Then again, none of these people we've grown to dislike would read it...
Every day I see "How do I...", "How do you..."
All the whos, whats, wheres, whens, whys,
and hows that are CLEARLY posted in the manual, and some even ILLUSTRATED!
-rounds up questioners and puts them in an RPG concentration camp-
Learn it until you love it! Muahahah!!!
-turns back to audience-
Heh, sorry about that...where was I?
Oh yes, I remember...
Some of us aspire to be the best, as we should, but the best does not always mean best stats...

Many of us are "the best" because we know the Library of Varrock by heart, and/or have the max qp at any given time, or simply the fact that we *know* that RS is NOT "just" a game, an MMORPG, or "a place to meet people, hang out, and have fun..."
The key words are ROLE PLAYING!
The sooner those who do not know this finally learn it, the better it will be for us all...
Okay, I THINK I'm done...
If I come up with anything else, I'll be sure to post it here...
Also, perhaps you're wondering why I posted this in Clan Discussions.
Well, let's face it, there is more drama, more immaturity, and more anxiety here than the other forums...

-To all who have read the previous-
Whether you've just skimmed it, fully read it, agree, or disagree, post MATURELY, and keep this thread up as long as humanly possible.
SPREAD THE WORDS!
"ROLE-PLAYING!!!"
