Stuck on ObservatoryQuest HALP

So, I began questing again and apparently (don't know when) already started "Observatory Quest".... I've been trying to finish it but am unable to enter the kitchen and grab the lense mold out of the stove because I do not have a key to enter. It's been three times now that I've ran around and checked every chest yet I still haven't found any key! I've also filtered my bank for random keys and tried them to no avail + checked Diango.

Can somebody tell please me what in the heck I'm doing wrong? I have no clue what to do.

There are a total of 11 chests in the tunnels. Unfortunately we're not much help here as the key can spawn in any of them as it's unique to the player. So the one that spawned my key may not be the same as the one that holds yours. Not that I remember which one has mine by this point.

Best I can say is rotate your compass so that it is facing North don't deviate it and hunt them down systematically. You know there are 11 so if you follow all the paths in the northwest and come up empty. You know if you need to leave out and come back where you've already been.

There are 2 ladders to the area. Depending on which you're starting from has some bearing on this so well break this up...

Starting from the observatory ladder there are up to 3 chests you can reach to the East. There is one chest in a small tunnel just to the northwest of that ladder. That knocks out 4 chests immediately. Nothing to the Southwest so don't go that way. Continuing Northwest you'll come to a fork in the tunnel. Heading East allows you to check 2 chests. Return to the fork and continue North. At the next fork continue North to a chest before heading South to continue through more of the dungeon. This will bring you over by the goblin guard and kitchen, continue past it for now and make two quick lefts for another chest. At this point you should be in the North almost dead center in the caves. Go straight East following the tunnel around to the other ladder but don't take it. There are 3 chests in this area 1 at the dead end of each tunnel area. 1 just to the Southwest of this ladder. 2 are further South but take the same tunnel to reach both dead ends.

Some point throughout this you should find your key. At any point that you do skip the rest of the chests and head to the kitchen.
