Ok, so I started hunting on Anachronia, and I have a question.
At first I wanted a jadinko egg, so I started by hunting those.
What I have found is if I do something else, then start hunting jadinkos, it takes a LONG time before I receive a first hunter mark.
After that, they come fairly quickly -- one every 20 catches or so.
However, as of today I have hunted for over 1/2 hour and caught over 160 jadinkos with 0 marks.
I understand this could be bad luck, but as this has happened this way before, can you tell me if there is a timeout process or something for this?? I feel like I'm wasting my time when I spend 1/2 hour trying to get hunter marks and get 0.
I also tried big game hunter recently -- I canceled an instance before I started the jadinkos today (just in case that was interferring), and that's how I know how long I've been hunting jadinkos for.
Hunter marks can be obtained while gaining XP, but is not guranteed. It's based on the same drop system as many other obtainable items - RNG. Sometimes you can be incredibly unlucky.

I get the feeling this is not "unlucky" -- but some sort of timer...
It seems to happen only after doing other things (not agility, but like "big game hunter"
, and only in the beginning of my hunting of jadinkos (not in the middle/end)
Well I tested it again today. This time, before I did BGH, i was getting marks.
it's been 50 minutes since I did that and I've been hunting jadinkos the whole time.
(I wanted to round up to a whole number of marks), anyways..
I've been hunting slower tonight -- so only 65 catches. (multitasking) but again, not 1 hunter mark since I left BGH
It's been at least 1 more hour -- I've hunted a lot of jadinkos, even switched to black warlocks...
and not 1 more hunter mark -- so what is it? is there a timing restriction or something else???
No limitation that i know of. Strongly suggest you switch to BGH instead, as Hispid Gnome said!
