Finally I did it, thank you so much for all your tips!
I thought I need to learn the boss better to beat him, so I thought I go without the precious, hard to make familiar and without the signs of life where I don't feel comfortable with (zero experience) and just try out different settings to see how far I can get the pharaoh down.
I went with
normal prayers and dual-wield melee
. My revolution bar was decimate-dismember-sever-assault-havoc-sacrifice-destroy-kick-slice-fury; my manual ability bar (without shortcuts because I don't know how to put them; therefore just clicking) had freedom, anticipate, protect magic prayer, piety prayer and some abilities - of which I actually only used devotion.
The first attempt went wrong, the ring of life saved me, and I went in again with a new ring.
And the second attempt worked great. So I thought I'd share what I did.
I did a lot of training in the last few days, so my stats when I actually went in were:
prayer 83, constitution 93, attack 95, strength 88, defence 92
Worn equipment: ring of life, holy wrench (pocket), amulet of the forsaken (accidentally got one from the barrows), mining cape (the best cape I have, only recently got level 99 mining), elder rune +5 armour (helmet, top, bottom, gloves and shoes), elder rune +5 longsword, offhand enhanced excalibur.
Then I tried to get an
initial stat boost
. First, I used the bonfire in War's Retreat (mine is at yew level). Then I went to Ooglog and used Bandos, sulphur, salt and thermal bath all in a row. Then I drank 1 dose each of super attack, super defence and super strength and put the half-empty vials back into the bank to take full ones instead. I also took a prayer flask (but only used 4 doses, so a vial would have been sufficient), a stack of feathers of maat and weapon poison +. 6 inventory slots were full, so I had 22 left for food, and I brought cavefish (caught at the deep sea swarm, cooked after drinking a cooking potion).
