It is a good guide over all, but bits of it should be re-written.
The "latest" summoning update has made it -easier- to call your familiar, not harder (unsure of what update you are referring to). Simply setting the left click option to call makes it a lot easier compared to having to change tabs previously.
Pressing F2 in the altar doesn't save any time as there is a minimum time before you can teleport after clicking on the altar and that is easily enough time to select your equipment tab and hover your cursor over the ring.
Pressing F1. same thing as mentioned above, there is plenty of time.
Potions - The agility update removed the need of energy potions for those with high enough agility levels. But for those who do still need them, normal energy potions suffice. It is easiest waiting untill you have less than 40% energy at a banking moment to withdraw a 3 dose energy potion and skull the entire thing while moving towards the altar and dropping the vial. This provides less time banking/dropping potions that still have doses in them.
Lastly and not least. What you have said about computer specs is true... to an extent. One thing that can really help is your internet speed and location in the world. I am personally from Australia and our internet isn't exactly the best (we are horribly overcharged for limited speed and data plans). I personally do notice a difference compared to those who have better internet speeds and live closer to a server, yes this a comparison between two people clicking on the map to get a head start.
