Legendary Pet Foraging ability

Hey I just bought a legendary pet but somehow the 'forage' ability doesn't seem to work. Pet walks away, digs in ground and then poof, resets itself next to me without any loot.

Anyone know a fix for this, or is it a bug that jagex needs to fix?

Could it be picking up coins which are added to your coin pouch?
