I'm doing the quest and I gave the old man his toy boat back. He gave me the key and I opened the first chest got the map, went downstairs to open the second chest and now the key has disappeared. The old man won't give me a new one. Any help? Seems like this is a bug too?

After collecting the 1st map piece. Try going out of the ship deck using the gangplank in the northwest. You should be able to walk on some of the rocks and jump to a few of them this would be agility tests. There should be a closed chest that contains piece #2.

For your 3rd map piece return to the ships lower deck. Don't worry about the locked chests it's in a open one. However before claiming it you must defeat a giant crab.
