I created a new character on my Jagex account. I spent a very long time trying to think of the perfect name and it turns out that I'd like to transfer the name to my main character because it's just that good.

I followed the steps outlined on the Character Names Runescape Support Page :
-Change the name on the character you'd like to lose the desired name
-Wait 35 days for the previous name to lose its reserved status
-Change the name on your other character to the desired name

But this didn't work. It's now been over 50 days since I originally bought a bond and changed the new character's name to something else, so the name reservation period should have ended... However, it still won't let me change my main character's name to the desired one.

It's a total bummer! I hate my main's name and I'm so bummed about it all that I'm barely playing the game because of it. I paid for a bond and two months of subscription for my main and I've played less than an hour during this 50-day period.
Just please let me transfer a name between two characters on my own account !

The name reservation has always been a wee bit misleading. It is indeed guaranteed to be held in reservation for 35 days (the initial 28 + 7 for you to revert if you wish). Now here's where the you're having issues... The original name is held in reservation for an extended duration based on how long the account originally had the name.

In your case to speed the process along. Change the name of your account you want the name from again.

An example say I wanted to move the name tranq to another account. Well borrow Tuffty in the example...

Tranq changes name to Tuffty. Now Tranq's account has the last known as Tranq icon but displays as Tuffty. Change the name again from Tuffty to anything including Tuffty, the name Tranq is then available to be used on another account.

So Sir Vikal > to any other name > to any name except Sir Vikal. Sir Vikal is available to be used on another account.

There are other names that are white listed and unavailable to be used per Jagex but that doesn't currently effect your issue.

Thank you for your response! One major part of my problem is that I haven't been able to succesfully communicate with anyone about this. I've spoken with players in-game but they've essentially all been trolls about it. I understand they're all busy and going about their days, but there really should be some form of communication possible with devs or GMs or anything besides X/Twitter.
