Cannot get logs

Every time I try and woodcut a simple tree with or without sentinel's the log chops off and fades into nothing. I don't think it's sentinels I think it's something else but I don't know what that something else is. Can someone help me with this? I need logs to complete a quest.

Have you toggled the ability to consume logs in the Sentinel's outfit (helmet)?
Is it possible you're wearing a charged Grace of the Elves or a Porter in equipment/inventory?
It will help to know which hatchet you're using, and if augmented, which perks it has. Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot !

Which tree are you cutting? Does this issue persist with all trees in the game or just one?

If possible - can I invite you to a group in-game to inspect your character, that way I can see if there's anything that might be causing this issue for you! Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot !
