I always love these Jagex security updates, because, when they do them, people in game are complaining of taking the Jagex update & then....being hacked.
Jagex have done this many times over the years, asking people to take "their" security and then....get hacked.
Do what I do, ignore Jagex security software and don't ever get hacked.
Don't save your passwords locally, don't even give your region away. Write things down on a piece of paper irl, if you have to.
Don't rely on any software to stop people hacking, once it's electronic, it's hackable.
And most of all, anything that says it's from Jagex in your email or in-game (and here I agree with Jagex) , delete it or report it.
Account security is just being savvy, not relying on software that is bottable or ie hackable.
I've been emailed & approached online sooooooooo many times, as I said before, delete or report.
And to finish, IT person for over 25 yrs now.
