We are united in Saradomin's light, from this unity we draw strength.

Saradomin’s blessings upon you, welcome to this recruitment thread.

Introduction

Do you seek the structure and order a clan provides? Do you desire a haven where you are free to discuss the lore of Runescape without being mocked or insulted? Do you crave the kinship of like-minded individuals? Search no more, for you have found salvation, the
Aegis of Saradomin!
We founded this clan to provide a sanctuary for Saradominist lore enthusiasts, and Saradominists in general, to gather and discuss recent events and quests, as well as swap theories regarding said events. We have events such as recruiting, building our citadel, dungeoneering, bossing, and minigames. Our clan is well organized and well structured. We have a weekly schedule and an in depth rank system with various roles and responsibilities, as well as our rules, also seen below. In addition to this, we have clan Discord, a link to it is on our thread on our clan forums for which I have provided a link below.

Clan Forum Thread

Requirements

All we require is that you are a Saradomin sympathizer, which means that you support the character, even if you follow a different god or faction. However, to rise through the ranks you have to be a loyal, well behaved and active member of the clan. This means following the rules as well as taking part in clan events and discussions. The benefits to this will be more power and influence in the clan, as well as access to the clan avatar.

Rules

Please note that Jagex rules still apply.

1. Be Respectful
- Respect your fellow clan members and do not go out of your way to harass or bully them.

2. Be Aware of Controversial Subjects
– Certain topics tend to bring out the worst in people. This was an issue in past clans and although there is no ban on such discussions, it’s in the clan’s best interest to drop discussions when they become heated.

3. Behave Yourself in Events
- During events it is important to remain polite and civil, even when those around you are giving you no respect and insulting you.

4. Saradomin Sympathizers Only
- Our clan was founded on the idea of providing a place to discuss the lore of Runescape from a Saradominist perspective. However, visitors don't have to be Saradomin sympathizers.

5. No Harassment or Trolling
- Don't organize into groups to harass other people, not only is this wrong it also makes us look bad. We do not tolerate bullying

6. No Bigotry
- The clan is made up of various backgrounds, genders and orientations. We do not care what your views on race, gender or orientation are, but we will not tolerate bigotry on our clan chat.

Punishments for breaking these rules will depend on past history, severity, and motivation. This could range from a temporary removal from the clan, lasting at least a week, loss of rank, to simply being warned.

Rank Structure

Recruit - General
- Aegis Aspirants. Their main responsibility is learning about the clan via this thread, capping at the citadel, and attending events. Doing any of these earns a rank up. All ranks above this one are expected to attend events and cap when they can, however, Aspirants should make this their primary concern to rise in the ranks quickly.

Admin
- Templars of the Aegis. Templars are the backbone of the clan, and are expected to help guide and welcome new Aspirants to the clan. Those who perform this task well while still helping out at the citadel and maintaining good event attendance may be selected for promotion.

Organizer
- Paladins of the Aegis. Paladins are expected to still help guide and welcome new members, but should let the Templars perform that task if possible. Their primary concern is keeping the clan chat and Discord free of trolls and the occasional spammer, and help prepare for events by instructing new players about boss or minigame mechanics, reminding people of events, and setting up a banner at a spot we will be recruiting at early to ensure we claim it.

Rank Structure Continued

Coordinator -
Justicars of the Aegis. Justicars are those who run the weekly events from our schedule. Each one will have a day that they lead the events, and they coordinate with the paladins to run the event. While higher ranks can lead events, Justicars should be allowed the chance to prove themselves.

Overseer -
Keepers of the Aegis. Keeper is a rank given to veteran members with less free time to contribute to the clan, but still want to help out. They maintain the citadel, set the weekly caps, ensure the avatar caps, and give reminders to visit and cap at the citadel.

Deputy Owner -
Masters of the Aegis. Masters are the most loyal, dedicated, and longest serving members of the clan. As such, they make up the inner circle and advise the Grand Master. They each have a special role that they are tasked with improving the clan in. Be it recruitment, roleplaying, PvM, etc. They can still run events and have the same responsibilities as other clan mates, but they should let each rank perform it's role if possible..

Clan Owner
- The Grand Master of the Aegis. The Grand Master is responsible to hosting meetings, recording meeting summaries, maintaining the clan Twitter and Discord, and meeting with the Masters to determine the future direction of the Aegis.

Ranks from the lowest Aspirant rank to Templar of the Aegis are earned via participation in clan events, capping at the citadel, and reading this very thread. Ranks above Templar are earned by displaying skills related to that rank. Ranks are lost through long periods of inactivity, such as over a month, without giving proper notice.

Schedule

Tuesday-Thursday
- Recruiting. Recruiting usually involves performing an event in a high traffic area in the hopes of garnering new members. Members are encouraged to dress the part and bring items such as Saradomin PoH banners, books of wisdom, confetti or emissary banners that they own. We recruit twice a week as we have only a small pool of people to draw from by the very nature of our clan.

Wednesday
- Meetings. The clan gathers at the citadel to discuss issues within the clan, formally promote aspirants to full rank, as well as come up with new ways to improve our clan. Each clan member is asked their opinion and given their time speak. Afterwards, we tend to cap as a group to make it less dull and monotonous.

Sunday
- Bossing. A boss is selected based on the level and equipment of the clanmates online, and we head out to slay them. High value drops are split, smaller drops are allocated by lootshare. The one hosting the event will pay for the instance, which is usually a high ranking member.

Saturday
- Group Events. We gather on Saturdays take part in various group activities in the game, be it minigames, D&Ds, dungeoneering or otherwise. We feel that this would be a fun event for our members to come online and socialize with their peers and farm thaler.

All events begin around 01:00 GMT and usually take an hour. Make sure to check what your timezone is and what that time is at 01:00 GMT. Attendance and participation will net an Aegis Aspirant a promotion. Keep in mind that we sometimes do special events in lieu of the normal schedule, and we enjoy doing D&D events like Demon Flash Mobs and Evil Trees, which can occur every hour. So keep an eye on the Discord server and the clan chat.

The Clan Citadel

For many of you,
Aegis of Saradomin
will be your first clan, so an introduction to clan citadels is in order.

Clan citadels can be accessed from the clan portal in the clan camp south of Falador, or the clan portal near the Prifddinas lodestone, and will take you to an instanced world. Citadels range from tiers 1-7 and can customized and upgraded based on their tier. Many clans make it a point of pride to have a good looking citadel, and meetings and events may be hosted there.

However, clan citadels require maintenance and weekly visitors to remain open and keep it's upgrades each week, and each clan member has a resource cap they may use on a variety of skill plots to gain various resources to both maintain and upgrade the clan citadel.

Currently, our citadel is tier 5, and thus has 6 skill plots open and 8 resources to manage.

Skill Plots

The majority of skill plots are simple to use with only minor changes in that you need to gather in a rotation such as the kiln, or from an active node like the obelisk, or there are multiple types of resources to gather like with the mine. However, the furnace is the one that is the most complex and as such needs to be explained in detail.

Ores from the mine and charcoal from the kiln is used here to produce metal bars and precious bars. This is done by shoveling ore into the furnace, taking bars out of the moulds, and placing the cooled bars into the stockpile. This uses those resources up and grants smithing experience. So if charcoal or either kind of ore looks a bit low, check the amount of bars made before gathering tons of them.

Also try and make use of the obelisk, in addition to providing free summoning experience, it creates minions, which are resources converted into a kind we need. However, you can only gather 200 resources at the obelisk.

Please note that the furnace is locked until the charcoal and ores needed for our goals have been met for that week. You can also talk to the quartermaster in the keep when you cap for bonus experience in a variety of skills and use the clan cloak you get at the clan camp south of Falador to get free experience in the skill of your choice. This experience increases with the fealty bonus, which is earned for capping at the citadel up to 3 times in a row and resets if you don't cap a week.
