• Section I: Jagex Rules •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The Kingdom of Varrock exists inside Runescape and on the Official Runescape Forums. This means we are subject to all of the rules, regulations, and codes of conduct that Jagex sets forth. For more information, please consult the Game Guide or official Runescape Code of Conduct.

• Section II: Language •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

We have these rules to maintain a pleasant environment for all of our Citizens in game, on the Forums, and extensions of the Clan Chat there is no excuse for using inappropriate language, or talking about subjects that are not suitable for players of a wide range of ages and nationalities.

+ Article I: Clan Chat

You must not behave in any way considered offensive, racist, obscene or otherwise inappropriate while in the Clan Chat Channel. Whilst mild bad language is allowed on a discretionary basis, excessive swearing or insulting with malicious intent at another Citizen is forbidden. The Royal family reserves the right to mute all non-ranks without notice or indefinitely. We will not tolerate any form of spamming or other CC disruption.

+ Article II: Official RuneScape Forums

You must not post about any subjects that may cause offence to your fellow Citizens. This includes swearing, discrimination, and deliberately bypassing the language filter as well as discussion of any activities which are illegal or which could cause harm to health or property.

+ Article III: Spamming/Flaming

It is unlawful to spam messages in the Clan Chat Channel, on the Official Runescape Forums, but forbid its use in the Clan Chat Channel. In addition, posting in a manner solely to entice a retort from others is a breach of Kingdom Law.

+ Article IV: KoV Private Communication Facilities

This includes, but is not limited to the official skype groups. Use of these facilities are privileges that can be revoked in case of misuse. Causing deliberate offence to others will result in warning and mutes at the discretion of the royal family.

• Section III: Scamming/Luring •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

We ask our members to not host trust games while in the Kingdom of Varrock or advertise any form of trust game in the Clan Chat or forums. Similarly, any actions or events with goals of stealing/luring/pking other citizens* items are also forbidden unless under all circumstances where permission to do so is granted by the Royal Family.

• Section IV: Activity •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

The Kingdom of Varrock reserves the right to remove people from its membership list who are not perceived to be contributing enough to the Kingdom. General activity must be upheld in order to retain a Kingdom of Varrock citizenship status. Removal of members is undertaken through regular f2p sweeps as well as occasional, advertised, sweeps based on event participation during the month of the sweep. Activity is defined by the following:

1. Clan chat presence.

2. Attendance at events hosted by members of the Kingdom.

3. Maintaining a presence on the forums, including and not limited to the Discussion Thread, Recruitment Thread and our Private Forums.

• Section IV: Treason •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Treason is a crime that undermines the Kingdom of Varrock, where the offender is disloyal by virtue of either outright or subversive behaviour. Acts such as these permit a poisonous atmosphere and degrade fellow Citizen's enjoyment of the Kingdom of Varrock. Anyone seen to be aiding or supporting someone who commits treason against the Kingdom of Varrock will be liable to face punishment as befits the offence.

+ Article I: Betrayal

Offenders convicted with acts of betrayal against the Kingdom of Varrock, its Citizens, or her Crown will be exiled from the Kingdom of Varrock and added to KoV Chat's ban list.

+ Article II: Withholding Information

Offenders found to be withholding pertinent information, in a situation that could compromise the health and continuity of the Kingdom of Varrock, its Citizens, or her Crown will face possible suspension depending on the information withheld.

• Section V: Insubordination •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

While not as serious as Treason (Section IV), Insubordination is the direct or indirect disobedience shown to a ranking Citizen of the Kingdom of Varrock. We have split this into two sections to reflect the situations present in day-to-day operations.

+ Article I: Minor Insubordination

Minor Insubordination consists of defying a direct command from a ranking Citizen in regards to any non-administration subject. Minor insubordination cannot consist of actions that would hurt the continuing operations of the Kingdom of Varrock, as those are Greater Insubordination (Section V; Article II). Offenders found in contempt of Minor Insubordination may receive a warning. Multiple occurrences of this will lead to a mute or suspension from the clan.

Example: Defpure98 is asked to drop an argument in the Clan Chat Channel by a ranking Citizen of the Kingdom of Varrock, but refuses to do so.

+ Article II: Greater Insubordination

Greater Insubordination consists of defying a direct command from a ranking Citizen in regards to any subject that breaches the continuity and health of the Kingdom of Varrock, and jeopardizes her continuing operation. Offenders found in contempt of Major Insubordination may be muted or receive a suspension, by the discretion of the Royal Family in a case-by-case situation.

Example: Defpure98 is asked by the Royal Family to change a rule in his subclan, but refuses to adhere to his/her request.

• Section VI: Applying to Join •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

On the application to the Kingdom, you are agreeing to adhere to our rules in the Kingdom Law and the Respect and Responsibility Clause. By saying yes to this, you declare that you are aware of any consequences that may occur by breaching the laws.

+ Respect and Responsibility Clause:
• I will not cause harm to a fellow Citizen.
• I will obey orders from a ranking Citizen.
• I will attend official events when I am online.
• I will follow both Jagex Rules, and Kingdom Law.

• Section VII: Rejoining •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

+ Article I: Having left on good terms

Citizens who have left the Kingdom on positive terms may rejoin at any time.

+ Article II: Having left on questionable terms

Only the King or Queen of the Kingdom may accept applications from players who have been Citizens in the past and left on questionable terms. Citizens who have left on questionable terms can rejoin at a minimum after 7 days but this can be extended based on a case-by-case decision.

+ Article II: Expansion

• Section IX: Punishments •
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

We have these rules to maintain a pleasant environment for all of our Citizens in game, and on the Forums as well as any other extensions of the Clan Chat. Depending on the Status or Rank of the offender and witnessing ranks, following punishments will likely be taken:

+ Article I: Citizens

When an offender is in contempt of Kingdom Law, they will receive punishment accordingly. The majority of situations should only warrant a warning, but should the offender continue in their behaviour they will receive further punishment accordingly. Depending on the severity of the punishment, after a warning a citizen may receive a mute rank for x amount of days, a suspension from the clan, or immediate removal with or without their name being added to the ban list. We request warnings before the offender is muted in the Clan Chat Channel, but it is at the discretion of the ranking Citizen to decide if an immediate removal is more appropriate. Citizens muted from the Clan Chat Channel have the right to know the reason why.

+ Article II: Non-Citizens

Non-Citizens are those who are not members of the Kingdom of Varrock. They do not hold any of the rights or privileges gained upon acceptance into the Kingdom of Varrock. If an offender is in contempt of Kingdom Law and is not a Citizen, they are to receive punishment accordingly. We do not expect a Non-Citizen to receive a warning before the removal from the Clan Chat Channel, but it is at the discretion of the ranking Citizen to decide if a warning is more appropriate.

+ Article III: Allies

Envoys and members of allied clans breaching the rules of the clan chat should be issued a warning before further action, such as muting or kicking, is taken. This must be reported in a similar fashion to when citizens are muted. If necessary, this is followed by contacting the Minister of Foreign affairs or a royal.

+ Article IV: Gold and Silver Target

Those who hold a Gold or Silver Target rank have the right to punish Citizens they find breaching Kingdom Law. They also have the right to remove non-Citizens from the Clan Chat Channel. If there is a Royal online then the Royal is to have the opportunity to deal with the issue before the Gold/Silver Target takes action. They must contact any Citizens or non-Citizens they have removed or muted from the Clan Chat Channel and explain the reasoning behind the removal. In addition, they must post the following form on the Administration Thread:

\+/ SCL+ Kick Report \+/
Name of offender:
Type of offence:
Time of offence:
Two uninvolved witnesses;

*please note that both of the uninvolved witnesses must agree to be listed as they may be questioned about the event.

** Spammers may be kicked without the need to fill in reports, just informing the Royal Family will suffice.

+ Article V: Royal Family

Royals have the right to punish Citizens they find breaching Kingdom Law. They also have the right to remove non-Citizens from the Clan Chat Channel. Royals may contact any Citizen they have removed from the Clan Chat Channel and explain the reasoning behind the removal. In addition, after removing a Citizen they must notify the other Royals, detailing the situation.
