As many of you know, we have finally decided to disband the clan and move to a chat phase. The clan chat "Republic of Varrock" will remain open, and any person who was ever part of RoV is welcome to chill in there with those of us who still play Runescape. Keeping the chat open will allow us to remain a part of the RoV we love and stay connected with each other, while also allowing us to gain the benefits of joining active clans.
A clan has finally been picked, and many of us will be applying to it within the next few weeks. We encourage all past RoV members and friends to follow us so we can stay connected. If you would like more information about what clan(s) we are going to, join the "Republic of Varrock" clan chat as a guest and talk to us about it.
It makes me very sad to be writing this post. I have loved every minute of being a member of this clan (even the very stressful minutes). While I don't what RoV to stop running as a POC, I recognize that none of us have the time or interest to run it properly. That is why I am ok with moving on, as long as we arrange ways for all of RoV's people to stay connected. The clan, after all, is not made of forum pages and chats...it is made of people. If we guest in the clan chat and stay together while we move to new clans, then I think we will still collectively be RoV.
Thank you all very much for your friendship. Don't be a stranger.

RoV Meeting Notes for the entirety of my time in RoV
...of course it starts with a meeting
• Hot balls
It all started for me in the sands of Al Kharid, smelting cannonballs at the furnace. Thats where I met someone who needed some help (think was some smithing questions they had, or prices) anyways I helped them out as best I could and in return they added me to their friends list, a little while later I was introduced to some more of their friends and asked if I would like to join the Republic of Varrock.
• Not too chatty
This was back in the day before friend chat, when clan members had to be added to your friends list and most of the stuff happened still on forums. I had not really been in a clan before and didn't know what to do, stayed quiet most of the time only talking really to the person who recruited me. Think the only time I really said anything was during the house meetings at JKs, and it wasn't anything useful just goofing off playing musical chairs with the horrible chair glitches that existed back then.
• A flower for RoV
Still feeling like I didn't fit in that great I decided to recruit a friend and thats how RoV got xwildxflower. The rest is history everyone knows, the clan exploded, I found myself getting more involved and the clan just bloomed.
• A long road
RoV has been important to me for most of my time on RS. It made the game enjoyable having so many friends and doing fun stuff together, was very chill. It gave me a reason to play, when I got more involved with the clan it wasn't just about me trying to have fun it was about trying to make a place where everyone could have fun. Clan meetings, forums, talking with JK, Aloth, Greg, Zar and all those other people who worked hard to make the clan better was actually a fun thing, its a lot of work but it was rewarding.

Sadly it looks like RoVs time has come. This journey with you guys has been amazing, a lot of good times and some bad times but RoVs members have always been the best no matter the situation. Even though RoV is no longer the same and we are all moving on with our own paths this place will still be here. RoV will always be a place we can come back to when tired of the road we are on and we can reminisce about all the time we have shared together. I hope all our paths cross again and wish you all luck on your future journeys.
Was a pleasure meeting you all and making good memories.
Sorry I didn't add you to that list figgy, but we never really had a chance to work together in RoV.
You were a huge player when I first joined RoV, but then you left after the Terwege thing. Then when you did come back was when I had taken a break from RS. I did hear from Wild that you helped her out a lot though.
There are lots of people who did great works during their time in RoV, some I wasn't around for but doesn't mean I dont appreciate that you took the time to try to make RoV better! To everyone I didn't mention, those who came before my time in the clan and to whoever may still come afterwards, thank you for all the hard work and time you put in to making RoV great. I miss having people in the chat just adding a bit of their personality. RoV was such a rich tapestry of people that there was always something fun happening. Sad those times are gone now... Maybe in the future
Hi its Dev or Devil19925, I was in ROV from a few months after it was first founded , on and off for a few years as life got in the way . Is anyone still active at all ?
, its majesty and opulence an old wives tale, resigned to the pages of folklore and legend. The great deeds of countless heroes, now the stuff of myth. But it was real, it was alive and it was great!
Between the Rivers Lum and Salve, on the edge of Forinthry, lies the ruins of a once great Republic. Abandoned and pillaged it is a wasteland with only a faint whisper that anything once lived there, one could hardly imagine there had ever once been a mighty kingdom there. But under tall grass and tumbled stone, amidst the ghosts of the past lost to time and hidden from the world lies a secret. And the secret is.....

We are back with the first set of meeting notes in a very long time! As always things written on this forum are not set in stone and may change in the future. This is just our proposed roadmap to get the clan running again.
•
We Are Going
Green
Our citadel is currently in a shabby state, so we are putting our gardening gloves on and grabbing our sewing kits. If you can spend a little bit of time working at the Citadel it will be greatly appreciated, lets bring back the glory of RoV!
•
*puts on cheerleader outfit*
R-O-V!
*makes a pyramid*
P-O-C!
We asked ourselves what kind of a clan do we want to build, we all agreed on a simple laid back clan. But we couldn't deny our roots as a POC so although we won't be heavily roleplaying you will still see some aspects of roleplay peeking through the day to day.
•
A Disorderly Discord
Plans are underway to update our clan discord!
•
Rank n' Role
The order of ranks has be tweaked and members of the council have been assigned roles.
Ranks are as follows and are based on time in clan
Recruit
- Newly Recruited
Corporeal
- 1 Month
Sergeant
- 3 Months
Lieutenant
- 6 Months
Captain
- 8 Months
Genetal
- 12 Months
Admins
will be Chat Moderators and will be hand picked from anyone Lieutenant rank +
Thats pretty much it for the most part. Everyone has ideas on what they should be doing and we hope to have the clan running smoothly soon. Thank you all for your time and we hope to see you in the clan soon!
