Good morning, fair citizens of the North. The astute among you would have noticed I missed last week's RD. So to make up for it, we bring you this super awesome fantastic RD with loads of changes and other such things of that nature...!

Subclans! have finally fired in out Kingdom. I want to see you unionizing now; matching up for jolly cooperation; or just generally doing those like-minded things you and your like-minded friends like to do. Kappa

Naturally, since subclans are now a thing and are now at the forefront of our Kingdom (the four subclans - the four pillars of our Kingdom if you would), other integral things and parts of the Kingdom will be adjusted around subclans. So, you can expect most things relating to subclans to be discussed in this week's RD. You can look forward to the following topics: ranks and ranking up, the lotto, events, and of course roleplay. Maybe not in that order.

But before I get into all of that, it might be a good idea to say what the four subclans are. We have the Order, the Embassy, the Guild, and the Army.

• • • Ranks and Ranking

The new subclan patch changes how the average citizen of the North is going to rank up. Before it used be that we had a universal points system that would give you progress toward your next promotion, and the ranks being:

How it was before:
Recruit - "Initiate" - Join the Kingdom
Corporal - "Citizen" - 10 points
Sergeant - "Squire" - x points
Lieutenant - "Knight" - "
Captain - "Warden" - "
General - "Thane" - " or Member of the month, or Legendary Member, or inducted into our
everlasting Hall of Fame

How it is NOW:
Recruit - "Citizen" - Join the Kingdom
Corporal - Recruit SubClan Member - Rank one member of a subclan; join a subclan
Sergeant - Apprentice SC Member - Rank two "
Lieutenant - Journeyman SC Member - Rank three "
Captain - Master SC Member - Rank four "
General - "Thane/Paragon" - Paragon = Member of the month; Thane = Legendary Member,
or inducted into our everlasting Hall of Fame, or renown SC member

But what does it mean? It means that the main way for the average citizen of the North to rank up is now heavily dependent on that citizen's involvement in their subclan of choice. The names of the new ranks primarily use a generic title. However, the lowest and the highest (of non-admin ranks) do not, because they are either given to everyone initially or given only to a select few, respectively, as well the title is universal, regardless of subclan affiliation.

This prompts me to my next point. The generic titles applied to ranks from Corporal to Captain are subject to subclan affiliation. A master level member in the Order would most definitely not be referred to as the same as someone of similar standing in the Embassy, ex. one is Elite Knight* and the other Ambassador*.

Now, how do you rank up? Each teir of rank in the subclans will require points to be acquired in order to be promoted. Similar to the old system, except now it is not centralized... coming along with a focus on whichever particular subclan's unique properties. That being said, I repeat, you will be rewarded for your involvement in your subclan. You shall be rewarded for doing things that pertain to your subclans' theme, i.e. if your a member of the Order, whom are our PvMers, you get points for slayer task co-ops. More on this to come, and will be posted elsewhere on a subclans' dedicated thread. There will in addition to that be common ways to get points, but only if you're affiliated with a subclan, which are: attending clan meetings - sporting your subclan's motif; attending a roleplay - your time to shine; and recruiting for you subclan - let everyone join in the fun.

What about that fancy Thane or Paragon rank? It shall only be given to deserving members by the Royals. We select one new Paragon each month, essentially our member of the month, and this honor, believe you me, is one to reveal in, for it is after-all temporary. Thane is more permanent, in that it is permanent. We will give Thane only to those who go above and beyond excellence and go great things for our Kingdom, be it that they become immortalized in our Hall of Fame or are a renown member of a Subclan.

...and the ranks beyond General? Yes, the admin ranks. The Royals shall select any new Royal (key rank). They shall also appoint Lords and Ladies (coordinator rank). Masters or Mistresses, which are the subclan leaders (organiser rank), shall be appointed by the Royals, or succeeded by the subclan leader's chosen second in command. The Second in Command (admin rank) shall be selected by the respective Master or Mistress of a subclan.

• • • Roleplay

So how does the advent of Subclans affect roleplay within the Kingdom of the North? Well, Camelot is no longer a band of barbarians! We have organization, w00t! That is just Roman. Anyway, it should greatly layer roleplay. Now that we have established organizations, your favorite characters have the opportunity to build a reputation and or experience within a certain faction of our Kingdom; as well, relationships with the other members of that subclan. Rather straightforward, right? I should say, though, that you do not need to have a character to join or be in a subclan - it is an option (one which I would, however, highly recommend).

And we know that not all characters may have the aptitude or the desire to be in one of the existing subclans. Or, for that matter, to be in any subclan, which we understand and is certainly fine. So what if you want a subclan that we simply don't have? We'll consider making one, or more. We are launching these four subclans as a foundation, and so might add new ones later, but the Order, the Embassy, the Guild, and the Army are what we really wanted to add first. By that, could you infer that we already have new subclans in the works? You could, but you would be wrong.

• • • Lottery

As many of you now know, the weekly lotto drawing for capping at the citadel has been put on suspension. Perhaps it may return one day, but as of now, the act of capping is solely an element of the Guild - we still want you to cap, though! And I will still occasionally throw you a candy bar in the chat if you do! And of course, we still greatly appreciate it if you do indeed cap at our lovely citadel.

• • • Events

Where are the events??? Yes, yes. They've been missing from our civilized Northern society as of late. I can guarantee that shall be quickly changed. How? Easily. I will be hosting events myself...! Indeed this post shall contain a list of upcoming events hosted by yours truly. But that's only for the short term, how quickly before we reenter a similar stage of lethargy? How profoundly and accurately asked. As apart of the guarantee, you all know summer is nearly upon us whom live in the Northern Hemisphere! (I'm not sure of the seasons elsewhere. #NotaGealagist) Typical summer-times gives us all more availability to stay inside and grind for those highly desired levels in today's dying MMO[RPG] industry, instead of going outside and breathing the fresh air of the geosphere (#NotaGealagist) whilst we play sportsball and interact with other human beings in person. Ew, right?

Praise the Sun for RuneScape. Irony intended.
