Horribly misguided comment.
To summarize the events, accurately.
Trained hunter next to said botter for 4 hours. Broke their bot for a duration of upwards of 45 minutes where they sat there doing literally nothing, a clear indicator that the user was no where near their computer to observe and correct the issue. For the remaining 3 hours, they had max 1-2 traps out if lucky, and assumed they weren't even breaking 150k xp/hr on DXP. All signs pointed clearly to botting, not to just AFKing.
After hours and confirming they were a bot, I reported the player. I also decided to be a good Samaritan and notify the clan that they had a botter in their midst. This is how that experience went.
- I joined as guest and asked if they knew this player, most of their responses were never heard of the player, and I had to point out that they were a member of the clan. One clan member said prove it, and I replied with their clan roster literally has the player listed.
- I told them the player was a bot.
- Clan owner said join Discord so we can chat.
- A separate clan member exclaimed "F*** off* and kicked me while I was joining Discord.
- After joining Discord per request of the literal clan owner, I was immediately kicked.
- Clearly the clan harbors bots and provides refuge for them, as no one knew who this clan member was, but decided to lash out very harshly when presented with the information.
All communication with the clan ceased at that point. No where was it prolonged or continued. There was a point where I noticed I autojoined the clan as a guest again when logging in, I assume that was due to the 1 hour timer ending and the game still thinking I wanted in? But no communication persisted beyond that, just noticed a message appear in chatbox saying I was kicked again, to which I had no care for.
Jagex themselves can even review this information and see it to be true in it's entirety, aside this discord aspect of course.
