I have held many roles in many clans over the years of playing Runescape and while I have made some incredible friends and connections throughout this time, no single clan seemed to have all of the elements that I personally enjoyed in the balance that I was looking for. So… I decided to make it. Introducing
Breaking the Cycle

I have found that generally, clans try to identify as one of three broad categories:
PvM, Social, and Skilling
. However, almost every player I know enjoys some balance of all of these key elements. Why would a clan bottleneck itself if the players don’t? So Breaking the Cycle doesn’t either. This clan is made up of a balance of players with a variety of interests. As such, we are able to help you learn (and are eager to learn from you!) related to all areas of the game.

With a relatively low skill requirement of 1000 total level, we want it to be easy to join us, and anyone may guest, and guests are welcome to participate in most of the events and activities we will partake in.
Subject to change if the clan reaches capacity, but if you have at least one account that meets this guideline, you are welcome to also transplant any ironman/alt accounts you may have so they can stay in one place together

With all of that said, my goal of creating this clan is to create a chill location for likeminded people to grow and thrive, or at least spend their time. Nothing is required to maintain your membership in the clan or your rank.
No mandatory events, no requisite capping.

The ranking system in this clan is essentially participation based. There is usually at least one clan event going on at any given time, as well as smaller exercises and other methods of participation. These, as well as capping and recruitment, all have point values assigned that help determine your rank. There is a document outlining this in greater detail in the Discord server.

Things you can expect by being a part of
Breaking the Cycle
:
• Somewhat regular events, ranging from regular PvM to learner sessions to skill-offs to competitions with prizes to screwing around in the world somewhere and everything in between

• A truly chill environment where you can chat, form teams, get advice, give advice, all in a safe space where the goal is to build each other up - toxicity and stupid shit like that is obviously not welcome here

• Probably money. I love putting together events where people can win money, and also just getting together to go kill stuff will usually make money. Socializing doesn’t always make money, but you can’t really lose money either. I love gp in this game and if you need it, this clan will probably help you acquire it. Not for free or anything stupid. Begging isn’t allowed, we’re teaching you how to fish, not giving you the fish.

• Metagame events such as draw something or hangman or whatever we can find - POSSIBLY even playing ‘other games’ together, but my goal isn’t exactly to get you AWAY from Runescape, so that will not be a focus

• Leadership that cares about ensuring a safe space for anyone, but without the burden of excessive rules (The Rules of Runescape, naturally, are enforced here). The average age of a Runescape player isn’t 13 anymore. Be an adult, don’t be toxic or shitty, and if you get called out, be better or get out. I’m not your mother. Basically this means no hate speech, it has no place in this game or this clan. Check out my clan, Breaking the Cycle

Now back to the whole balance thing. I love skilling and I am working on 5.6B total xp personally. It’s a lot of work and I’m on the grind. Luckily I have alt accounts I can play on in the meantime to break it up. My main account is almost always at the arc these days. I bet you anything I’ll forget to update this paragraph by the time I finish arc or even 5.6. Watch.

I also love chatting. I’m usually chatty almost to the point of being annoying. This document is already over a page long. You know how much alcohol and plagiarism it took me to write a page for university? So that’s where we’re at. I know a lot about Runescape and can almost definitely help with general knowledge questions, or point you to a resource that would be easier for both of us than me just explaining it at you.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Rise of the Six. It’s the best boss in Runescape. I want more bosses like it. If I’m playing actively, I probably wanna go rots. That’s just me. I want to do other stuff too, I enjoy most of the PvM content in this game, some of it I know well and some of it I don’t. If we eventually had Raids, AoD, Solak, Vorago teams going on the regular? That’d be awesome. I’d go and help however I could. Am I promising it’s gonna be that big bad pvm clan on day 1? Month 1? Year 1? Hell no. Help me out, if you like the attitude of the clan and want to join, fill teams with friends at first. I won’t be offended. Then maybe bring a learner from the clan. Or don’t, I’m not gonna tell you what to do. But that’s an awesome way to build each other up.

I didn’t want this to go over 2 pages and honestly you’re a trooper if you read this far. If I actually held your interest this long, you’re probably a good fit for the clan. PM/DM me to join, it’s so easy.
