As some of you already know, this summer I will be working as a camp counselor at a sleepaway summer camp in upstate New York.

I'll be looking after a group of 11-12 year old girls, sleeping in the same cabin, having meals together, taking them around the various sports & activities. The reason I'm telling you guys this is because I will essentially have no time to myself and obviously therefore won't be able
to continue as owner while I'm gone.

There is no phone signal at the camp and no internet access other than dodgy WiFi in the counselors` hut, which I'll only have the chance to be in during my 30 minute daily time off. There are also no laptops permitted so I'll only have my phone. Therefore I won't be able to hold rank sessions or generally be on much at all.

With this in mind I have decided to pick a caretaker owner to manage the FC while I'm away. After careful consideration I'd like to announce Charm Quark will manage the FC over the summer.

Charm founded the original rare quark in 2011, made me owner in 2012 and has been a trusted friend to both myself and the FC for the past 5 years. It's natural to ask why the owner hasn't been picked from the admin team. The real answer is because this is, as of this moment, only temporary. When I retire for good and a permanent owner is announced, it will of course be selected from among the admins.

Charm will host the July rank session and is the guy to go to for anything FC related while I'm gone. I leave for camp tonight and return on Saturday, August 13th. I'll pop on from time to time when I'm chilling in the counselors` hut, and anyone's welcome to leave me messages on skype and I'll respond to you when I can. Please remember it may be a few days, or even a couple of weeks until I'm able to get back to you. Join "Pis2ols" FC for all discontinued item price checks.

As for the threads, I give Charm permission to create temporary discontinued item status threads until I'm able to make the next one. I'm sure Charm and the admins will manage the FC perfectly in my absence. I'll see you all in a couple of months.

Ehh, kind of unfortunate but maybe charm will be more active in the fc and make the necessary changes. I agree it probably would have been better to make a long time permanent owner(s) who have actually been active in the fc the past few months. I'm sure Charm will be pretty open to suggestions.

Apologies Lee; not a joke :P

I will attempt to be active and responsive to R Quark issues over the next two months. I plan to work under the close advice of the admin team, which has done a great job with the FC and which is more familiar with the day-to-day operations of the FC than myself. I tentatively plan to have the next rank session on the weekend of July 16, time tbd.

Rank session times

Bond brought up that rank sessions had coincided with family holidays a few times lately, and asked if this could be avoided. The next two sessions should be 16th July and 13th August; holidays will ideally be avoided in future.

Criteria for ignoring updates

Magpie drew attention to the criteria listed on the rank document, whereby supsicious updates may be ignored. It was suggested that these be added to the forum thread since the rank document is seldom used. This will be done soon: I will copy the criteria below this post .

Temporary fc owner

Charm Quark will be caretaker-owner until Lyra returns in August (see above for details).

Criteria for ignoring suspicious updates


When 3 or more of the reasons below are matched, star ranks can give permission to ignore the update. The updater won’t get added to KOS unless there is a rank conflict. If you think an update should be ignored but you lack a star rank, pm a star rank with your findings and they might give permission to ignore the update.

Reasons to suspect manipulation (you need at least 3 reasons and a star rank before ignoring):
- Leaving directly after updating;
- Weird name no self respecting player would use;
- F2p alt without trained skills (±total 100-);
- Player is not at GE and not in lobby (not on companion);
- Update is not as you would expect (e.g. bsanta is dropping and suddenly someone reports an update 5M above current pc);
- Player does not respond to calls in fc/pm;
- Player does not show items/cash when a rank requests;
- Player repeatedly gives updates changing the current pc in a particular direction over a limited time-span (e.g. hops in every day to make the current rween pc rise by a mill).

This makes me sooooo happy! Couldn't have made a better choice. No offense Lyra, the nostalgia is just kicking in from when Charm was the owner. :P
