Records aren't fc related, but I find them irritating personally. Maybe once a thread would be a reasonable frequency lol

Agreed with this.

+1

And as for the posts Ferenc mentioned, I say just ignore them. :)

Interesting on how known users fail to report transactions above the current ranges and then make sure to report on their buys that fall within the price range. Being that this clan is supposed to be worthy of trust and has been known in the community for quite some time, people tend to overlook what's really going on here. Sorry to say but, I have been coming in and out of this CC for probably at least 2 years+ and it would seem to me that I have lost trust in this community. Ranges definitely do need a new system if that were even to work. I would suppose that there is a reason why majority of ranked members are the richest in the game, but hey what do I know :-) . I will look to 'High Warped' for a better estimated value on ranges. Good luck R Quark.

Those green trades were a nice example of getting interesting results generated from automatically generated ranges. (Demonstrates my argument that some human element is beneficial.)

Trades: 4175 4225 4225 4200 4175 4075 4750 4710
4382
-- 5-trade simple moving average
3975-4745
-- Cheezer's formula
4040-4540
-- Charm's default
4080-4510
-- Charm's "squeezed" range
4450-4750
-- Approved range

Shame i missed the discussion :p When I saw the trades, my thought was 4175-4500 (to put the average around 4317, which is av. of confirmed trades, but with a bias to the recent trades). Of the automatic ones, Charm's seems most appropriate imo, but with an average of 4295 seems too low still

IDK...the lower end of the approved range is hundreds of mils above 6 of the 8 trades. It seems like way too much weight was given to the most recent (high) trades. But what I don't like about the generated ranges is them generating numbers outside the reported trades.

I did think that about the cq range, but I was not there, so I am not sure what arguments were made. The reason I thought 4175 bottom, was because there are a lot of trades down there. Despite that, I would guess there was a case that the 4700's prices were more representative of the current value; considering this, Charm's is probably inappropriately low.

And that is what Charm's squeezing thing does, "squeezes the range until the upper and lower ends are within the highest and lowest trades".
