How do you feel about the creation of an in-character thread on the clan forums for roleplay posts?

Please explain:
Before I explain, this doesn't mean I don't want a forum thread for rp, but that I don't want rp to be EXCLUSIVELY done there, read below for further points.

This is my personal preference, I understand the points. But K0V is a roleplay entity in itself, that doesn't mean bossing/skilling are afterthoughts or just additions that build around the roleplay, but roleplay is one of the core entities of the poc and world 83 overall.

Case in point, lands and the premise of monarchy, there isn't an ingame mechanic that grants our clan ingame territory nor I acquire ingame bonuses for being king outside the benefits of leading a clan.

That doesn't mean I don't approve of a clan thread for IG forums, however I wouldn't like it if the roleplayers get placed on their private little corner to play with by themselves.

Most good roleplayers started out watching other people roleplay and they gave it a go, nothing excites the aspiring rper more than a community that has it's roleplayers being an integral part of their daily lives.

That being said, I also dont want the Disc thread to become the dumping ground for lore with each person dumping 3 pages worth of backstory for their characters ((yes i'm being a hypocrite since I used to do that)).

So in other words, moderation on the disc thread's rp posts but don't make them go away

Agreed with King Lali. Ensure it's not excessive, but maintain it, as it ties in strongly with our POC's ( ;) ) traditions.

Next to this note is a low status guard, who seems oddly killed. There is no evidence as to his murder, but just standing near him tells you something Ancient was at work.

Rnoy would hover over the Stonemason. It had been quite sometime since his journey through the desert. Once he returned to Varrock, there was evidence that dark forces were searching for him; Nuala was gaining ground.

In an attempt to hide his tracks, he went to one of the few places that he believed Nuala would never search for him. Now he stood in the Stonemason's house in Keldagrim, having been working with the dwarves for the past several weeks in upgrading his personal defences.

Rnoy shifted his weight. The new prosthetic leg he rested on felt foreign still. A sigh would escape him as he longed to have his pegleg, Larry, back. But alas, after venturing through the desert on it, he knew that it was inefficient.

The Stonemason caught the sound and looked over his shoulder at the half-elf. "Will you stop with that whining already? It's almost done."

Rnoy snapped from his thoughts and leaned in closer. Just as he did, the dwarf would spin around and hold before him, a suit of armour with an almost mystical sheen to it.

He would reach down and grasp the armour, which reacted immediately to his touch. The runic trails imbedded within the plating and stone would flare to life. Rnoy stared at wonder before looking at the Stonemason. "I didn't know you dabbled in Runecrafting."

"How else was I able to make you your arm and your leg? They're made of the same alloys as this armour is." The dwarf would grin proudly as he stroked his beard. "Go ahead and try it on."

After several moments of fitting, Rnoy would stand in front of the full-body mirror. The armour looked great, even better, it felt perfect. Even though it was made of metal and stone, it felt light as a feather, almost as if he were wearing nothing at all. He turned to the Stonemason. "How much do I owe you, Old Friend?"

The dwarf was already waving his hand in protest. "Consider it a gift. Your father helped me a lot."

Rnoy would grow silent at the topic of his father. The dwarf, seeing this, would gently pat his arm. "Your father did everything he could for you... Which reminds me.." The Stonemason turned to a locked box on his work counter, after several moments of tinkering with the locking mechanism, he would retrieve something before turning back to Rnoy.

"He had me make these quite a few years ago... though he didn't tell me why. Simply said that I would know what to do with them when the time came." The dwarf revealed an item that looked like a normal pair of glasses.

Rnoy, startled by the gesture, would simply stare at the object before raising a brow, looking at the dwarf. "You do know I'm half blind right...?"

"Try them on."

Tilting his head, Rnoy would remove his dwarven monocle and replace them with the glasses. As soon as they were resting on his face, the lenses would shift in hue. He blinked several times, once everything came into focus, his eyes widened. He could see from his left eye as clearly as the day he lost sight from it.

"By the Gods.... How..." Rnoy removed the glasses, his sight faded once more. "This is.. impossible."

"They're attuned to your elemental being." The Stonemason would watch Rnoy's reaction with hidden humor, but remained steadfast. "Your father had me use some of his blood within the lenses. Apparently these can only work for you, no one else, if blind, can use them to see." He paused, sighing faintly before continuing, "The only down side is.. Your ability to see energy will not work with the glasses, you'll still need your monocle if you wish to use that ability."

Rnoy would stroke his beard as he examined the two of pieces in both hands. "Perhaps..."

I'm one for roleplays and all, but I do feel that if people start flocking to the forum roleplay that will start to become more canon than what we do in-game. Among the other things that Lali has put.

While we did have a forum roleplay a while back, we also made it clear that it was an alternate reality of KoV and would have no impact on our clan's story canon.

I'm not adamantly against a thread, it's just that if people start using it more it would become more story canon than what we do ingame. However, for character back stories and solo-stories that you don't feel like roleplaying or cannot find others to roleplay with, that is fine, but only if it is kept as such. I'm a

*****RP update*****

While investigating the undead menace in the sewers under the capital, Corporal May's guard squad were steamrollered by an army of skeletons. Led by the necromancer himself, the horde broke into the palace but were stymied by master-at-arms Ishtari's ingenious undead ward. Undeterred, the necromancer - Mimring the Zarosian (in disguise) - went in alone and broke his zombie butler out of the cells, before summoning hulking undead construct 506 to cover his escape. After getting shot and stabbed 127,456 times the thing finally died and the guards celebrated, except poor Harrison who'd been cut in half by the creature's spear. May and Constable Kingsworth were left to clear up the mounds of guard corpses and dead-for-real-now-undead.

What will happen next? Does anyone suspect the necromancer's true identity? Will May realise why he seemed so familiar? Since it's zombies wasn't it always gonna be Mim duh? You decide in the next RP!
