It sounds really good to me. But what exactly do you mean? Like the actual event would be listed as a vote, and then in game at the time of the event we vote what we want to do, then go do it. Or a vote prior to the actual event day?

Why not just have a family meeting and discuss what everybody would want to do? This could be done in the cc or at a meeting place, such as Lady Syra's POH.
We had really severe thunderstorms where I live yesterday. Power was lost to the ENTIRE town for about 4 hours after som car accident brought down power lines. The river that runs through the town had a flash flood (did not burst it's banks though) rising about 1.5 metres in about 3 hours. My wife & I visited her parents who live in a 2-storey house right on the edge of the river and we watched it rise (and drank scotch whiskey) for a few hours until power was restored. All in all, an interesting afternoon.
