Hi Clanmates :)

This will be a great event for team building and having a lot of fun.

It's always fun to have a Secret Santa at Christmas, and they are a lot of fun.

So that this event stays fun, if there's many people not able to afford the amount of gp for the secret santa, then so it doesn't put pressure on our newer players to RuneScape, or on those who struggle to make gp, just so it's a little fairer and remains fun maybe we could change that to the suggestion below. I'm happy for it to stay as it is, but if it becomes a burden for many, then we need to change it to keep it fun.

In real life, to make it more fun, Secret Santa gifts exchanged are often just fun things that cause a lot of humour and hysterical laughter.

We want to keep this fun, and make it so all clanmates are able to participate, so perhaps another alternative would be to just make a fun gift that will result in a lot of laughter, and help keep the friendly, happy, fun, party atmosphere.

We could be creative so it adds to the fun. Examples of things that come to mind for this are, "the old boot" sometimes caught while fishing, cakes and party food - the less common, the better, although not sure how a person will feel getting Karambwan, or odd little items that fit obscurely into the game.

The aim of this is a fun event that will be, as Annwyn has worded it so well, to "build a sense of cohesiveness, strengthen camaraderie within clan Cherish Hope, such that every member can get to know his or her clan mates better and build friendships. Most of all, have a very merry Christmas not just in the real world, but within Runescape and the clan.

I'm happy to have it stay as it is, but the above is an option if many can't afford the amount. I'd love to share this event with you all, and look forward to it, however, may not have access to puter for some of Christmas day. We need to clarify the time better also.
Take care, and Merry Christmas.
Cheers
Cherish.

I have decided to make several tweaks to the event, taking into consideration Cherish's post above.

1) The lower limit of 1 million coins, grand exchange value, will now be abolished. Members can be creative, as mentioned above and gift any item to their recipients during the period of exchange. With the abolition of the lower limit, the upper limit is now redundant and will be removed.

2) The Day of exchange will now be lengthened to a period of exchange. The period of exchange will stretch from Christmas Eve to New Year, a period of about 1 week. This is to take into consideration members who may have computer problems, real world commitments that may keep them from being online on one specific day. During this new period, Santas are encouraged to add recipients when they are online, converse with them and present their gifts personally if they can. If any recipient fails to receive a gift from his/her Santa during the period, they can pm me in-game or post on this thread.

If you have any suggestions, please pm me in-game or post on this thread. Thanks!

I'm in please..but i can not predict my access to rs / computer / net during that week.

will do my best to get online..

and my best to find a funny gift ( u haz been warned ;-P)

ps: missing those sleeping bags we used to have

I like the idea of a low upper limit..for example real life secret santas are commonly set at 5 or 10 dollars
around my part of the world...
