So many threads like this and Jagex just ignores them.... Support. in my opinion either upkeep needs to be removed, xp rates should be increased or some greater benefit from capping is needed.
Upkeep should not be removed, its really too easy to keep the upkeep met at 100%
My clan has 2 avatars both on charcoal, and i ask everyone capping at citadel do the 10% summoning cap limit to help meet upkeep / upgrades, the minions help out in small ways so therefore, you should not be having trouble on having upkeep met each week at t7, 3 avatars, when everyone cap atleast cap the 270 summ each week

My heart goes out to you but, I refuse to give up on something I built and been around for almost 10 Years!
My Key ranks will do what they can to help but, you can't make people cap they simply have lost interest in even communication in cc. I have probably 50 active members.
I agree that it's a shame years of hard work can be in danger of being lost so easily. What's even worse is that nothing will be done to update the content to make it appealing to more players.
Why help clans when the game needs another boss so desperately. /sarcasm

Clans as a whole are in an extremely tough spot and Jagex hasn't seemed to acknowledge it at all. Been saying this for years and its only gotten worse over time.

I completely understand that you have earned the citadel through years of hard work, and I appreciate how upset you are to lose it, but as Owner McCoy says, it isn't that much work for everyone to pitch in a little, even with only 50 people active, you don't have to have everyone cap, just to do a little bit each to get to the total needed. If you can't get existing clan members to do that, could you maybe try recruiting some less experienced or new players, who are grateful for the free xp, even if it isn't the most efficient in the game ? That might alleviate some of the pressure

Why should you get to keep a T7 citadel with no effort ? You have in excess of 250 people in your clan ( 8 of which are key ranks), and you can't get the equivalent of 5 of them ( + avatars) to cap ? Then I'm sorry, but in that case you don't deserve to keep it, regardless of the effort put in previously.
The citadel is a choice - if you want it, work for it , if your not prepared to work for it, then don't have one and don't worry about it.
I know I sound harsh, and I do honestly understand that you are upset over it because of the effort you have put in over the years, and completely agree that the game is now so AFK thats its ruining any community value to clans.

I'll stand by the fact upkeep spoils the fun of building a citadel and that upkeep should be removed all together, i understand why the original concept was added but it hasnt worked out in the end, we dont have upkeeps on our player owned houses which can be more or less the same type of content.
Would like to see clans and thier features offer more relaxed gameplay, something that can become more social, upkeep can sometimes be a worry and i think that puts off a lot of clans who dont want to have the hassle of maintaining one.
I would say counter this with an increased amount of resources needed to build things.

Not a bad idea, but however you slice or dice it something has to be done. I remember once losing only Tier 3 because someone forgot to visit, and bam....to the beginning we go. It's soul crushing.
