Today I had 2 people join my clan.

They were previously the owner and dept owner of a mostly inactive clan, and had left/disbanded it earlier in the day.

Their clan had a citadel many moons ago, but had been dilapidated and locked,they think for maybe a year.

On joining my clan, the clan owner - who disbanded the clan was able to cap with her resources showing as 0/2700, but the other was unable to , with his resources showing as 1000/2700.

I assumed that as both had just left a clan today, that they would have to wait for the 7 day cooldown before they could cap in my clan ?

There is no 7 day cooldown anymore that was removed long ago when I still did a citadel. However, I believe currently that citadels are not worth the effort in dealing with getting players to cap weekly. In fact, I believe a lot of players that don't like to cap quit the game altogether because they are forced into aggressive cap fights within clans. Best wishes to all.

There is little logic to when a player is able to work in the Citadel and not work. Best I can work out is that it has something to do with the time of leaving and the build tick of the new Clan. I have a member who stays with us for 2-3 weeks, leaves to help others warring, Bossing, goes back to his home clan (which is not mine, we seem to be a quiet refuge) or other activities. Sometimes when he Clan hops he can do Citadel straight away and other times there is the 7 day wait. I have ceased to try to work it out :)

It works like this:

- Person with a clan leaves clan and join yours - 7 day cap cooldown

- Person with no clan for 7 days joins yours - no cap cooldwon

My understanding of new clan members and capping is that if they gathered any resources in their old clan within the last week, they cannot do so in a new clan for 7 days. Build ticks seem to have some significance also, but I've not figured out how that is supposed to work.

If neither of your two new members capped for months I have no idea why only one of them is able to cap - citadel logic strikes again :P

My comment wasn't about getting people to cap, our citadel is totally maxed out, and capping is not mandatory, yet we have had an average of 29.9 players capping each week in the last year ( one of my admins likes to keep stats). Getting people to cap isn't a problem for me, maybe because we have lots of new or lesser experienced players who appreciate the free and easy xp.

The was only because these two new clanmates came as a couple from the same clan, which they left at the same time, to join mine - at the same time - that the difference was so obvious.

As I understand it, all resources a clan member gathers is stored on the player. Citadel data can be pretty glitchy (e.g. being unable to set new targets with the "0000007" bug or w/e, visitors not being counted when they enter, inconsistencies of who can cap, receive bonus xp from quartermaster, etc.) Somehow, the partial cap didn't clear when the one player left their old clan. It probably won't reset until Shattered Moon's tick next Tuesday is my guess.

Did they try leaving and re-entering yet?
