Clan Leader Questions

Bit of, not a tradition, fun for clan leaders to get to know a bit about you, your clan and what type of clan leader you are!

1) Do you see yourself as the most important person of the clan?

- Depends on perspective. To me, no. 1stly, without our steady longtime members, we'd be nowhere. 2ndly, because of our unique clan structure, my function is as a guide, supporter and clan safekeeper, with regular clan running needs done by me and our team of veteran players that have been with me since the beginning, who share clan duties between them depending on their rl skills. But for an observer to the clan, yes. Not only as a figurehead and leading role model, I am the one that keeps everyone together, recruits the most, undoubtedly worries the most and puts heavy effort and encouragement towards our members to promote their progress.

2) Have you ever kicked a person from your clan that you considered as a personal friend?

Again, depends how one looks at it. No one I know in rl plays rs, but I have kicked valued members who tried to use our clan as their personal recruitment station when they've decided to branch out and create a clan of their own. Some of the fledgling clan leaders I had become fond of as I had trained them in the arts of leadership, preparing them hopefully to take their place with me in our team of leaders. But they used the knowledge they gained for their own new clan purposes at our clans expense. I have since stopped personally training leaders unless they remain active with our clan for at least 2 years and display the aptitude for leadership.

3) Are you able to control your anger when a member does something very wrong?

- I am very level headed and not angry but understanding and firm when I see bad things happening, either in or out of clan.

4) Do you rank up people fast?

- No and yes. Our system functions on a basis of 2 things: Longevity and Helpfulness. The longer a member stays and the more they help, the higher they are ranked. But to encourage them, we regularly give out their first promo 1 week after they join. I don't want anyone left behind.

5) Do you talk with members using other sites/ programmes? (aka skype, facebook etc.)

- Yes. Ours is the RS clan with the largest facebook group and we also use a variety of voice servers when we need to from Skype to X-Fire.

6) Have you ever considered quitting your clan?

- I don't believe any leader doesn't stay in their clan for as many years as I have without at least considering the possibility, and if they are good leaders, at least preparing for it. (There I go again, leaving tidbits of wisdom...) I've known it from the start, which is why I developed the unique clan structure we have, ensuring the community survives to prosper even if I am too busy irl or no longer around.

7) Do you discuss clan problems with the whole clan and not only with the high ranked members?

- All meetings are open to all members and all members have equal capacities to vote and decide matters that affect them.

8) Have you ever had a dream about your clan?

- Yes, when I've worried too much about it. lol

9) Do you think your clan is the best clan in RuneScape?

- No. But I work to bring us as close as we possibly can be to ideal, even if it's not by top stats or players, but by functionality and effectiveness as a Team.

Clan Leader Questions

10) Does your clan stop you from playing other games?

-
Sometimes.

11) Would you ever join a clan again as a recruit?

-
No.

12) Do you doubt on your abilities as clan leader from time to time?

-
No, but I don't always have the best possibilities available, something I've learned to make do with.

13) Do you attend all the events your clan has in a week?

- Yes, I try.

14) Do you always read the applications new members post before accepting them?

- Yes and I also invite members by talking to them in game.

15) Are you happy with your clan as it is now?

No. It could be much worse than where it is, but it must improve from here. 1stly, I have yet to find a member who bears the same dedication and passion I have to team-building, who can spend 8 hrs a day looking for a good member, who will do all the little things it takes to help me build the vision I have for an outstanding clan, without depriving members of the power and freedom they've enjoyed while the clan been in my care; that keeps our clan popular among our members. 2ndly, it takes steady longterm players to accomplish longterm goals and very few of the ones I find, good-intentioned though they may be, stay active longterm. 3rdly, p2p is a major problem. Citadel degrades when p2p members go and I am almost to the point of disregarding goals for a good citadel for the waste of energy it takes and lack of available players.

Your Clan

Tell us about your clan!

1) What kind of events does your clan like to do?

-
Skilling, PvM, Bossing, God Wars, Dunging, Pest Control, Heist... we're active in everything.

2) How old is your clan and how long have you been leading it?

- 5 years. I'm one of the founders and have led it since being elected shortly after it's founding by a 30+ member clan margin of majority, and have since been re-elected twice. All of our founders are still with us.

3) How does your clan handle ranking?

- Through activity, longevity and helpfulness.

4) Does your clan have any requirements for new members?

- Being polite, having a no-drama attitude and willing to do activities with other members. Any Skill/combat level/play style welcome. Steady longterm players appreciated.

5) Do you have many admin+ ranks in your clan?

- We have a medium level, which are refreshed as members go inactive and are replaced if there are available candidates.

6) Does your clan have a clan citadel?

- Not anymore, but I intend to reopen Citadel if I can find 20 regular P2p members.

7) What updates would you like to see in the future to help run/ improve your clan?

F2p levels of Citadel. Would be the biggest improvement and help can be.
Also, I'd welcome implementation of a better Clan symbol creator and customizer.
