You can vote as a member, and get the first month for free access IF you voted. However, after the vote, members that haven't voted will have to pay to play it depending on the outcome. It is now 5 bucks, but if it gets to 500k before next friday it will be no charge. Do note that you have to be a member and the 5 bucks is on top of that.

Today i was maging my slayer task at zammy gwd. A meleer walks in

Lets look at the fact

I am on a slayer task, he is not
I am using ovl's and torment, he is using piety and supers ( i asked )
Im using best in slot ammy, ring, boots and gloves, he is using lvl 60 boots/gloves glory assuming best ring in slot just incase
Im using blood barage with staff of light vs his zammy godsword.
He is 175 cb vs my 200 magic based

Now, also notice how zammy gwd is weak vs magic in particulair.

U'd say id get it? But nope, he does. CLEARLY magic is balanced with melee. I mean, they had to release drygores to balance it out.

Over the course of 20 kills i get 2, using the most damage efficient rotation i know where u boost ur damage early ( you dont get to ultimates )

I dunno, although I haven't tried it myself word on the street is the new guild wars is the best time/money mmorpg out there.
You pay for the game (like 60 quid) then there no recurring fee or anything, there are apparently some micro transactions in game like rs has with SOF and stuff but its not Pay to win.

There are probably others, rs just appeals to me now because I simply do not have the free time to get into another big MMO.

Also strictly speaking although there not MMORPG, demon souls and dark souls hold 1000 times more value for money then this game.
Depending on your payment method RS is roughly between 60-120 euro a year, if you take into account spins and SOF items I wouldn't be surprised if there are players spending in excess of €1,000 a year.

Realistically I would say RS membership if you were to core it and call it like a shelf retail game, bearing in mind existing content and entertainment value its probably a once off €29.99 game and if you were to quantify an entire years worth of updates as expansion packs it would be €9.99 an expansion back.
However like most MMORPG there is this overating of games value, I seriously don't believe it is necessary for things like maintaining servers etc., look at games like Planet Side 2 or Guildwars.

Planet Side 2 is entirely f2p with some arguably Pay to win features (although aside from cosmetic skins the weapons can be bought with the games normal currency type thing that isn't bought with real money).
Guild wars two as mentioned initial fee and bobs your uncle no recurring membership fee.

I think the recurring membership model is dying and if anything it shows a distinct lack of value especially in games that use it and micro transactions.

I think its Jagex's multiple failed attempts at launching other mmo's that is leading to unreasonable membership fee's relative to its peers.

Been having lots of fun in the 07 servers this weekend. Its fun no-lifing. There's a lot more players than before, yes it will die down but I think this has been a good move by jagex. Some will get bored and return to the main game, some who went just for nostalgia may get hooked. Then with larger player base, new skills and quests on the main game. Hopefully both games will be busy :) .

It will be the same fun, crazy rush when the new skills come out, I can't wait. My old original clan (which is now just a friend chat with no leader) is really active n all good friends there. Really good to see.

Lol just killed the lv 120 black knight titan and returned the Holy Grail to the knights of the round table at Camelot. 15k def xp, 11k pray xp :) Combat level 35 ----> 40.

This weekend was chaotic, interesting, fun. I feel playing in the 07 has brought some of my clan's members together. I feel we may host a recruitment thread in the 07 forum section, and be both a eoc rs and 07 rs clan.

I hope construction comes out soon though :S. It's something I am looking forward to for nostalgic reasons. I don't really like how people are saying all the fun in this is coming from nostalgia, however. I haven't felt that this game is fun due to nostalgia. In fact, I've had a completely different experience so far, since I didn't start out p2p in my playing of this game 6 years ago. These are new, fun experiences for me, not based out of nostalgia.

It's great to see and I'm loving it. Don't think I'll go back to EOC anytime soon. Good laugh doing quests on teamspeak with everyone and generally chillin' out.

Ill be only on oec though. Already been through 07, i want new challenges and stuff and be excited about new stuff, not old stuff. IF that quest got released already =[ *snifsnif*

Alot of rage against and pro-07 servers of people that actually play it, as with everything, nice to see alot can just simply enjoy it and not wanting more or something different.
