Hey guys,
I've read up on the Wikis about changing
Citadel Build Ticks
, but I'm always wary of playing around with these forms of
Clan Settings
so have come here for some help.

----

Our main Clans
Citadel Build Tick
is around 6PM UK time on a Saturday .
Our second Clans
Citadel Build Tick
is around 9PM UK time on a Saturday .

From what I've read, to get the second Clans
Citadel Build Tick
to happen at the same time as the main Clans, all I need to do is ask the Quartermaster at 6PM UK time on the Saturday to change? Is this correct?

----

I'm aware it costs a weeks
Upkeep
to change a
Citadels Build Tick
time, so essentially we would need double the weeks
Upkeep
to change the time.
However, we also have
Upgrade
s happening at the same time, so would this effect us changing the
Build Tick
time?
For example, would resources come out from the
Upgrade
and be used in
Upkeep
instead?

----

Lastly, we officially establish our third Clan this Saturday and we will be creating our
Citadel
on the same day. To have the third Clans
Citadel Build Tick
also set for 6PM UK time on the Saturday , is it just as simple as creating the
Citadel
at that time?

----

Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to mess anything up, so any answers/ advice is very appreciated. ^_^

Thanks,
Agita

It is just as simple as creating it at that time yes for your third clan.

Im not 100% sure on how it works (even though i did it not so long a go lol) getting forgetfull but what you could possibly do is make your third clan and then test it out there as req for a tier 2 citadel is nothing at all then you can possibly see it in action first hand.

On another note though because the citadel week starts only when the first member ebters after the tick it might be difficult to sustain all 3 clans at the exact same time over the course of a few months.

Yes when changing the citadel time , just ask the quartermaster to change the time, at the exact time you want it to change. SO for clan 2, you need ask him at 6 on Saturday, your tick will then be pushed back a full 7 days - instead of ticking at 9pm following your request for the move, it will happen at 6pm the next Saturday - at a cost of twice the upkeep. Resources would be allocated to the upkeep before any upgrades.

The tick for any citadel starts also starts at the exact time that you make the clan, so to get the third citadels tick at the same time, yes it is simply the case of making it at that time.

However, what Scret says is worth remembering. You would need someone to enter each citadel at the exact same time following each tick, in order to keep them in synch.

I do wonder why you need 3 clans ? potentially all running at a lower level citadel rather than having more members in fewer clans thus giving you a greater chance at a higher level citadel more quickly.

My pm is always on if you need any further assistance :D

Thanks for input so far guys!

Our first two Clans have maxed
Citadels
with
Wolf
Scape
2
just awaiting completion of their
Dragon
.

Both clans are also are pretty maxed in terms of members; we keep them around 480 members each so members can still
Recruit
in them for
Rank
purposes. (We remove inactive F2P to make more room for new active P2P members so it's always a balancing act.)

I'll admit it would be easier if the Clans could have more than 500 members, but unfortunately that is the case, which is why we expand to new Clans altogether.
We're very fortunate we have such dedicated members who help us do this.

We just felt with this new Clan it was time to reign in the
Citadel Build Ticks
to the same time, which is also how we start our new weeks.

I just don't understand why this claim continues to be promulgated. It hasn't been true for some time now. I've tested it multiple times, and my experience has been that no matter how long we wait after our Build Tick time to re-enter the Citadel, the countdown is calculated against the end of our last Build Cycle, and
NOT
against the moment when we re-enter the Citadel.

For example, the last time I tested it, no one entered our Citadel for twenty minutes after the Build Tick (I was the last one out and let the system boot me out), and when I went in, the countdown timer read 6 days 23 hours 40 minutes. The twenty minutes we had waited still came off the weekly countdown.

(I wish it hadn't; our reset time had been creeping earlier and earlier, a minute or so each week, and we wanted to push it back to where it had begun. Alas, not that easy.)

To quote Mod Maz:
"There is no method for locking the running of build ticks. They will run regardless. However they run when the first person attempts to enter. The build ticks will catch up with any that have missed at this time.", Citadel Reset from T6 to T1, Runescape forums, QFC 268-269-310-65330152, 16 Apr 2014.
So changes to the Citadel may be applied on a "just in time" basis when the first person enters in the new week, but the countdown doesn't begin then. It used to, apparently. But not any more.

That being said, you will still likely experience slight drift of your Build Tick times. It happens.
The symbol of Guthix does not represent his tears; indeed, it is found already in First Age, pre-God Wars ruins associated with Juna. No, the symbol of Guthix , twisting first one way, then back again, is nothing other than the Balanced Path .

To counter the post above, I would say 20 mins isn't long enough to move the tick, you are still within the catch all period where the tick remains ( relatively ) the same.

As far as I'm aware if you were to ,make the wait a couple of hours, and you will see a shift ?- while i haven't experienced this myself , plenty of people have posted on the clan central forum after having had it happen.

It's worth noting at this time of the year, that the tick is based on game time, so when we all change our times at the end of summer time, the build tick time will not change, essentially becoming an hour earlier for us all.

Because when asked why the citadel doesnt always have a static time that was the reason given to us by a J Mod.

Originally our first two Clans
Citadel Build Ticks
were pretty much the same time at 6PM UK time .

We learned a lesson with the
Build Ticks
shortly after; no one visited the second Clans
Citadel
until much later on at 10PM UK time and ever since then that
Citadel Built Tick
was always then.
Bit of a nightmare as we like to start our new week whenever the
Citadel
resets, but hey-ho.

----

Just some information for anyone else interested:

. The new Clans
Citadel Build Tick
is set for the same time as the
Citadels
creation time (just one week later of course).
Nice and simple.

. The second Clans
Citadel Build Tick
was changed to be at the same time as the other two, however the
Citadel
did not reset.
The visitor counter remained the same, resources to
Upkeep
and
Upgrades
stayed the same, the
Capped Avatars
remained the same, but all members could
Cap
again.
