What is the purpose of having guests and clan members being different colors? As in, why would it be beneficial--to help with recruitment? I currently don't see a need to differentiate guests from clannies in the clan chat display. I would actually be against such a thing, since it would draw attention to the fact that guests aren't a part of the clan, making them feel different and unwelcome.
I think that different members being different colors would be too confusing
The only way I'd see that being effective is if the different colors were a gradient, but I think that's too nuanced. I do really like the "chat badge" idea, though, for within clan channels.
Even if guests don't have an icon, but everyone else does next to their name, I think it'd be worthwhile and nifty. (And because that would differentiate guests in a way that doesn't make them feel so self-conscious)

The main reason was for in big clans to identify possible trouble makers, of course we do have a setting for higher ranks to see that a certain guest has entered the chat. So I guess it could be a useful tool, but then as you said, could also be used to single out a guest, I didn't think about it that way, thanks for your feedback
