Scammers impersonating admin

This is both a warning and asking for a bit of advice -

In the past month our members have been pm'd by a user with a very similar name to our clan admins - with an L changed into an I or something similar (which ingame look identical on chat). They have been asking clan members to trade money - not huge amounts but the odd mil. Fortunately they've only managed to scam one or two members as they've been reported to admin straight away asking if they are legit alts. So far on what we know 4 admin names have been copied. The account does not guest in cc but someone clearly is to get both the admin names and the clan members names - as soon as it's announced in cc they mysteriously go offline (I tried to add my fake alt but they must have had me on ignore, prepared).

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue, or how they have dealt with it. All occasions with us we asked the members to report the players for scamming. Not sure if there is anything else we can do but that :/

We should be able to make our clan lists, and chats private if we so desire to stop people from being able to access our member lists, and the names of people to attempt to contact.

This is also where a whitelist would come in handy

As mentioned by others, all we can currently do is make sure all clan members are aware this is happening. I have a post on our clan forums about it and mention it in chat every few days to remind them.

They use alternates to guest in clan chat to gather names of online members and leaders. I know this because we check all guests that enter our clan chat. We've kept a tight grip on who is in our clan, combined with informing our members about the issue.
