Hey everyone, I want to pitch a smaller version of the Clan Cup idea from last year I had, the only reason it didn't happen was due to the size of it (one entire skill) so I want to focus it on one piece of content from Land Out of Time in the game.
So let's take Big Game Hunter for example:

- Each clan member has three 1 hour slots they can activate via their clan vex, once the timer starts they get the following bonuses for even participating

Doubled hunter marks while in a clan cup session
All big game hunter spawns will always be one dinosaur (so RNG doesn't cost you with double/triple spawns)
Big game hunter monsters never go onto cooldown for the duration of your session

- A clan has two weeks to set three sessions, a clan needs 10 members to have submitted some form of session score

Prizes:

- 1st (winners!) - Access to the Crystal avatar, clan stickied thread in recruitment and 12% xp boost/100% faster capping.
- 2nd to 10th (runners up): Access to the Crystal avatar and 9% XP/75% faster capping for a month

Improvements:

I've used this opportunity to tidy up the entire Clan Cup system, in the past Clans had to "apply" to enter a Clan Cup, this is no longer the case, the only thing you need to do is get stuck in when it's live!

I've also done the following:

- Clan broadcasts will go out when a member starts their session and also list the score they've finished with so clan members can encourage/congratulate on the attempt
- Added a buff icon which displays the exact time in your session remaining, you can also hover over the icon to show your current sessions score so you no longer have to check your Vex mid-session.
- In the run up to the Clan Cup (7 days until it launches) the Clan Chat will show a trophy icon which will give you information on the cup and how long you have until it starts, this icon can be clicked to take you to a dedicated page on the Clan Cup
- When the Clan Cup starts the trophy icon will change and so will the tooltip.
- When the Clan Cup finishes it'll then display information saying results will be coming soon
- Then on results day the tooltip will once again update and allow you to check out the results by clicking on the trophy!
It goes without saying but none of this is guaranteed to happen but I'm sure as hell going to try, let me know what you think!

My only concern is the high-level gap, in the sense that most content in all skills in LooT have a fairly high requirement level (minimum hunter level is 75, agility is 85 and slayer is minimum 90)

So instead we would end up with certain members carrying the clan through (which is unlikely, given the competiton) in clans that aren't so skilling-oriented.

What I mean to say is this puts a hard skill-level requirement on the competition, rather than leaving it to the skill and coordination of a clan as an entirety, and a clan member on the singular level.

Is there something to be done about this, or is the intent to orient the entire clan cup around a certain demographic?

EDIT: After discussing the matter with our clan leadership I have an official statement that I'm adding here:

As a clan that welcomes both f2p and p2p players, both beginners and experienced, LOoT seems to be the sort of content that not everyone can get involved in for the purpose of a competition. Our clan events are inclusive for all of our members and we make sure that they feel part of our clan and community. That is the essence of SI's all levels philosophy. The tournament itself is supposed to be a community gathering, a celebration of clans, an event that every clan member can relate to and feel part of 'fighting for the clan'. The old clan cups had a universal theme of inclusivity for all players which seems to be absent in this case. We have the impression that your main focus seems to be to use the clan cup as a promotion for the new content more than an inclusive clan cup for a variety of players and clan community. There are no consolation prize or recognition for the low leveled and casual players, so I don't see why many of my clan members would bother with this. Shadow Imperium cannot support the idea where some of our players are qualified to participate while the rest are forced to be on the sidelines. We wish you good luck with your event though.

I quite enjoy big game hunter but know a lot of others don't.

I think the minigame could be improved with some tweaks and think for that reason it should not be included in a clan cup.
There have many suggestions on the forum such as slowing down dinos slightly, reducing radius slightly, adding more grass patches etc.
As this is new content. not even been in game one whole week there are always chances changes will be made.
This is kinda the reason the Combined Cup died out in the clan cup. There were bugs in stealing creation that never got fixed. As far as I am aware have still not been fixed.
These bugs meant all sorts of 'odd' results in the combined cup hence it was dropped.

also the perks from hunter lodge hunter reward shop will greatly effect clans chances.
As this is new content no one will have these sorted yet but any who have by the time of this suggested competition will have a big advantage. As the clf is a closed forum no one will have time to prepare except us.

I do however like the idea of small organised clan competitions.
Just think the content chosen this time trouble me.
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

From what I've read on the forums, BGH isn't that well received by the playerbase and there are still plenty of patches needed. It's also not open to all players. If you're going to host a Clan Cup, using an older piece of content that has been proven to be suitable for competitions might be a safer bet. As Hispid said, unfixed bugs in minigames are an issue, as well as TH exclusive items.
