Hey all,

In Clan QoL #2 there was a feature that allowed you to set a PIN that guests had to guess to join, this was a nice way of stopping abusive guests getting in but wasn't the be all and end all.

I pulled Qol #2 away from QA so I can add these two features which I think will be very welcomed.

Clans can now set a total level requirement for joining their clan in clan settings, if a player is trying to be invited that doesn't match the clan's requirement they will not be able to join (If an owner invites a player, it will bypass this check)

What Clan Settings now looks like

The tooltip in clan settings, when ticked this'll display the actual total level set by your clan (which'll also be broadcasted to admin+)

Message that appears if a clan member tries to recruit someone without them meeting the level

Clans can now set a total level requirement for guests to join their clan chat in Clan Settings, this is to stop new accounts being made to flame clan chats.

The checkbox when ticked corrosponds to the level set by your clan that stops guests joining based on total level

The broadcast sent to admin+ when a level is set

Message given to guests if they try to join a clan chat as a guest without meeting the level

Message given to guests if you've changed your clan guest level requirement since they last reconnected to your clan chat as a guest.

I think this'll be the final bumper part that I think will make Clan QoL #2 a superb update, as of this message it passed Code Review and is now bundled into Clan QoL #2 as a bumper update.

As always I hope you enjoy and make sure to give me your thoughts :D

Although I like the Guest PIN, I can see it becoming cumbersome.

- PIN created.
- PIN distributed.
- Guests chat unhindered awhile.
- PIN leaked.
- Guest chat raided.
- PIN changed.
- PIN requires REDISTRIBUTED.
- REPEAT...

See what I'm getting at?
After awhile, even if you change it regularly, how would someone not guesting regularly enough in the CC even know it was changed, unless via PM or other social medium? And even then, what if "raiders" have access to your distribution points?

It's a temporary fix, even still.
I can see its use for newly created clans perhaps, but established ones with hundreds of players and followers is unstable either way.

Overall, the idea is a 7/10, and execution and effectiveness is up for debate.

Love these new updates, thanks shauny eventhough my clan has no trolls, scammers and so forth but glad it will be there for other clans who have similar issues etc

THIS.

How about making a guest white list, for approved guests.
It would be similar to the current clan ban list we have, but instead you add the RSNs of the people you actually want guesting in your clan chat, and when you take them off the list they also lose their ability to guest.

Obviously clans that aren't too bothered or don't get trolled often could still just tick allow guests to enter and talk, whereas others would be able to tick use clan white list or something.

I'm not a huge fan of allowing clans to set a total level req in this manner. If clans want to set their own requirements that's fine, but Jagex shouldn't be instituting this feature. It's one thing if a clan sets their own reqs to keep people out, it's another thing entirely if Jagex is supporting that by implementing features like this. Although the intentions are good (stopping trolls), this will inevitably be used as a Jagex-sanctioned way for clans to discriminate against lower level players. I think this would be unhealthy for the community and discourage new players from taking part in the community. Noobs may interpret this as Jagex encouraging clans to be unfriendly towards new players. @Lisaa_RS - Followed by @Runescape
