Clan harassment from guests

Hey guys, I'm the clan leader of Artwork and I was wondering if I could get some feedback here with a problem our clan is experiencing in terms of being harassed by a certain individual. We've been experiencing this every day, multiple times per day, and we've tried everything to put a stop to it. A certain person is creating multiple accounts with seriously offensive names that include my name in it or another admin's name and joining our clan as a guest to spam our chat with offensive messages. This person also private messages several people in our clan impersonating Jagex staff by offering fake player mod status or simply harassing us or calling us names. We've tried turning off guesting, putting these people on the banlist, kicking all of them when they guest, disabling guests from talking in cc, everything. Turning off guesting damages our clan as we are inviting to friendly guests who want to join our cc, and we gain a lot of members this way, we don't want our guesting to be off at all times. Our ban list is full, kicking them seems pointless as they just make an infinite amount of offensive names and guest in our clan, and disabling guests from talking doesn't stop offensive names from popping into our clan chat. I'm aware of the clan pin update that Mod Shauny is working on implementing, but I don't think it is a good fix because this will essentially ban everyone who we're not able to give the pin to, we want people to guest who we've never talked to before who are interested in our clan and could potentially join. A better fix would be to create restrictions as to who is able to guest, such as a members only option for guests or a total level requirement for guests to join. This harassment happens multiple times per day, we really don't want to just permanently turn off our guesting. Is there any way we could get a change to restrict who is able to guest in clans or a ban to this person who is constantly harassing us? As I have many screenshots.

You can try reporting this in The "Flag A Concern" Thread in addition to continually reporting these accounts in game.

Unfortunately, until an update like the Guest PIN or any other Guest restrictions makes its way into the game, your only option is to completely turn Guesting off for your Clan Chat until the issue stops. Whether that means leaving it off for a week or two months, that's up to you and dependent on how effective it was on deterring the trolls from entering your chat.

That's not ideal, but it's something that may have to be done. My clan had issues with trolls in the past, though not as severe as your current situation, so we rarely allowed Guests to ever join our chat. At one point, we had Guesting disabled for nearly 3 years before deciding to turn it back on.

I'm sure your regular guests will understand the situation if you explain why it needs to be done. And, you'll have to make due without legitimate players having the option to guest in your chat for the time being. Sadly, it's better to lock out guests completely than fend off a continual bombardment of troll accounts entering the chat to be disruptive. They'll only stop when they can't get a desired reaction from your clan anymore. ~ Sicariu

The flag a concern thread is never checked so it wont do anything. (january of 2018 was the last time Shauny responded to it)

Quite honestly you cannot do anything about it other than to turn off guesting completely in your clan chat. I have had the issue before but with an entire clan that would follow my clan members and myself around the game saying horrible things and telling us to kill our selves and so much more. They gave out my cell number in public chat, and so much more. We reported, and reported, and reported. Nobody got banned, nobody got muted. Nothing came of it ever. They knew nothing would be done so they continued to do it.

Don't give them a reaction and eventually they will get bored and leave you alone.[/quote]

We went and took off the people on ban list that we had not seen in years to be able to
add more people. I kept up with who was banned and why so i knew which pple had
been on ban list longest.

I do suggest everyone.. i mean everyone report these people each and every time
they say something offensive.

And impersonating a jmod is one that will get it looked at pretty quickly.

Make sure if 5 pple in clan chat when it happens that all 5 report the offender.

I know its hard for our clan too at times. We have guests that sit daily with us and
we are a second home.

Hopefully Jagex will give tools to deal with this in future. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.

I’ve had my whole clan of generally 50-90 people online encouraged to report this person for the offensive names, harassment, and staff impersonation, and it’s done absolutely nothing. It’s not just this person that does this to our clan either. We have people from the RS luring community harass us about a member who got lured for a huge sum of RSGP, people from a small clan that used to be a part of our clan who come in and harass us making names such as “kill [insert name of clan member here]” or far worse, and now this person too. I just want to express how ridiculous the frequency of these occurrences are. We deal with someone harassing us like this upwards of six times per day. It’s not fair that I need to turn off guesting as the only way to really prevent this, this basically means guesting will always be off for our clan, and it’s not fair that our members have to put up with this. There needs to be an update to the clan system to regulate who is able to guest in a clan such as requiring a certain total level to be able to guest preventing people from creating infinite accounts with offensive names and guesting in a clan to harass. It’s not just our clan. I know many other clans struggling with this and no clan has a means of dealing with it without sacrificing guesting all together.

Hmm...This is really hard to believe but i'll let jagex be the judge.

Someone doesn't harass someone for no reason.

I don't want to be the one to say bad news to you, but your clan has a history of scamming players, so really it does not surprise me you're being attacked.
