It seems that 2 Clan leaders discords are not very handy and not all information is shared with the RS Forum.

-My idea is to use the official RS discord instead. Give clan leaders a clan leader role which give them acces to some clan leader only text/speak channels where all the information get posted. Only important things need to get posted there. Social aspects of discord can be done on the regular official channels.

I actually suggested this on a different thread, and would fully support the idea, if it could be worked out.

There is a Mining and Smithing category on the official Runescape Discord. However, it is open to anyone that requests access.

The main problem I see is that CLF is not open to all players. It seems it may take a bit of work for Jagex to verify anyone requesting access to a closed clan channel indeed has CLF access.

And if you open it up to all clan leaders then you'll have input from everyone, not just those with CLF knowledge.

I am no longer a member of the CLC discord server, but I did found it. The official Runescape Discord channel would work really well for it in my opinion for JMod feedback and announcements etc. Clan leader Discord seems to be more of a social place to hang out and chat.

It would only work if Jagex had a way to limit a channel in the RS Discord to those with CLF access, which might not be easy.

At the same time though Lyre, it's not up to players regardless of if they are a moderator or not to refuse access to that discord to any clan leader on the basis 'they think they know they are doing whats right'.

For me, I feel it either a) needs to be passed over to jagex with the moderators doing the role to give CLF access or it moves to a completely new discord server.

The current CLF discord staff have shown they cannot remain impartial and this is why I am going to always support a jagex run clan leader discord, despite myself solely founding CLD, I honestly do regret it. Creator of the Clan Leader Discord & Clan Discord

There is no guarantee that Jagex will keep the CLF forums updated anymore than they do now if they added a CLF section to the RS Discord server.

CLD is run by players. While they may update CLF with information when they can, it really is the responsibility of Jagex to make sure that important information is posted to their own forum.

My original thoughts about having a CLF section on the RS Discord was to have a single official place where Jagex and clan leaders can come together to have real time discussions. However, the idea should not be to redirect the flow of information to a Discord and away from the CLF. Instead a Discord server should facilitate discussions between leaders and JAgex for more comprehensive ideas and outputs on the CLF.

Also, some players don't feel comfortable joining a Discord if it isn't officially run or supported by Jagex.
