Introduction
Hello, ladies and gentlemen, if any of this has been suggested before, I do apologise. This will take me a little while to compose my thoughts in a coherent manner, so please excuse the empty thread, it will be updated. Thank you for your patience.
Good morning, afternoon or perhaps evening, depending on the time at which you read this. I hope you are well. For the sake of brevity, I'll keep introductions as short as possible.
Clans had their big year of updates and focus back in 2011, I believe. This is at least when the Clan Citadel was released (26 - 07 - 11). It has therefore been 9 years since any real attention was shone onto this (what I would call) 'Social Content'.
In a game such as RuneScape which is increasingly AFK intensive; community dwindles. This is perpetuated by the advancement of technology such as Discord, which further segments the community into different channels for the purposes of VOIP.
The end result is a game that on the surface is expansive and full of content, but underneath is devoid of life and little more than a 'watch the paint dry' simulator. Not everybody uses Discord, not everybody AFK's and therefore Clans are, I feel, the wall that holds back the deafening silence.
It is for this reason, and the good of the community at large, that I believe Clans to be deserving of another spotlight year.
