Clans are the most underrated feature of RS but it'd be the wrong place to preach that here, Jagex tried to do too much back when they were released and ended up making them almost un-updateable without redoing the completely, a mistake they hopefully will not make twice, but when it comes to features where they have to completely re-work it beyond cosmetically then they just leave it and add new features to the game when really they just need to fix it and allow people to be bored for a while so the game is fun throughout, too much focus on end game not enough on fixing the outdated features throughout. Yes you maintain your aged old community, but you lose and alienate players used to playing with better multiplayer mechanics.
RuneScape still has the potential to be great but it's almost like they actively try and avoid what needs to be done to make it great again. If the clan system isn't fixed before RS mobile, the game will be far more short lived for a lot of people than it could be.
Regarding this actual thread, I got a bit sidetracked, honestly the skill plots are completely unrelated to clans themselves, it's a nice idea but by this point you can say it is a failure, it is a chore. Honestly I think a big POH on a far grander scale would be better than the current system. One thing I've thought of quickly is an endless street of clans going from the grandest cobbles to the muddy dirt track as you walked down this street for all these clan HQ's and clans can do something to move themselves higher up the street (forcing others down) if you get teled to your hq you get teled outside to your hq on this street.
Another idea is having a group of hqs together and a pit for our champions to battle, at first I thought players, but now why not an upgradeable customisable creature, your own Rocnar, have a base design, then be able to upgrade claws, teeth, arms, legs, ect something spore like but hey, there I go getting carried away.
