When I posted this suggestion into the CLD, it gained much support. Unfortunately, no one has actually provided any ideas here on the thread for rewards or improvements/variations to the idea.

I presented the idea over Game Jam, and though Shauny didn't address it, it did garner a little discussion.

Suggestions for rewards included more fealty/resources for clan in addition to individual stuff could be nice.

Another suggestion for a type of clan activity was "Maybe a daily clan reaper Where a chosen rank+ can choose what the points go towards"

Other comments were "Could do a mix of [the Explorer's Aura] yeah so you have to skill to get to a combat area or vice versa
That could also be a chance for a future different citadel idea as well
An overgrown/overrun island that clannies have to skill/kill to keep from being[sp] overrun every week"

"Replace the skilling nodes from that Aura with nodes useful for Citadel resources. It could make gathering resources more fun and less of a chore.
Or maybe not a Citadel. Whatever a new clan home becomes."

Too much "fluff". I'd rather JAGeX fixed Minigames, as in permanently resolve their issues with them. Clean up backlog things and retouch "DOA" content or remove it completely... This, this is not even on the radar for people to have interest in. It's such a niche game aspect. I do like the idea of Citadel Daily Challenges though. Clan:

Quite frankly, 99% of the updates asked for on the CLF are about niche game aspects because most of the clans left are social/skilling/PvM so they generally get updates and working game content in the first place. Most of the broken stuff in RS3 has been broken for many years and as such their communities have died, left, or stopped asking for updates as they've lost any faith in Jagex still fixing it. It's not like Jagex is still going to fix minigames, because that requires knowledge on them. I wouldn't be surprised if all the JMods who originally designed them are no longer with the company, and the new JMods have probably never even played them.

I like this idea, and the fact that that maybe they can be not daily but weekly. We are a global clan and might only see some folks for an hour each day. As such we don't plan events because most aren't on at the same time. But if we could all participate in something weekly for a goal I think it would be great. That way people could contribute when they could - will have to think more on rewards though

In essence, I think it's a good idea. Having a weekly clan challenge in the same vein as daily personal challenges would be pretty nice. The issue is, as you've alluded to, that it would work best if the reward were adequately beneficial to the clan as a whole, but more importantly, to the individual clan-mates.

To potentially expand on your idea of limiting each clan-mate's contribution to the challenge, perhaps to complete it the clan must hand in a certain amount of "tokens" (whatever they may be), which are acquired while doing the challenge. These would be similar to the Varrock Museum/Golden Prifddinas statue pieces that you can collect while skilling, except they wouldn't rely on random chance while performing the skill, but rather at an allocated point. This could be used for singular challenges, like with your example of 1000 logs (a token may be given after one clan-mate gathers 100 for example), but would also allow more open challenges such as "earn X amount of XP", where the player would acquire the token after a set amount of XP (for example, 500k) to contribute towards a clan total goal (for example, 10m), which would allow clan-mates to train whatever they like while keeping a goal in mind. So this would come together as a challenge to "gather X amount of tokens", with a description on how the tokens can be acquired this week/month.

In regard to rewards, like I said, it would be ideal if it benefited the individual as well as the clan. For the latter, it could be as simple as giving the quartermaster an option upon challenge completion to receive a "reward shipment" of a modest but helpful amount of resources in a category of the clan's choice (such as 5k, given to charcoal, for example). A permission for Admins+ could be made to decide on a clan-to-clan basis who can assign these resources.

This would benefit the clan, but an individual reward should be present and worthwhile as motivation. I'm sure many of us attest that the changes to capping have attracted clan-mates who rarely or never cap to begin taking part in it, because now it is directly linked to getting a larger XP bonus all week long. Helping the clan this way also now benefits the individual, attracting more people. In the same way, this proposed idea of yours could give benefits that help the player, without being so beneficial that partaking in the challenge is almost a necessity for efficiency, as it shouldn’t make clan-mates feel that they have to take part. Perhaps a choice between a few situational, temporary buffs such as increased charm drops, lower divine charge drain rates, or, as you suggested, a single entry to a special dungeon, perhaps with creatures that give good Slayer XP, or with special resources (trees, ores etc) that give no items but great XP for limited use (like the resources in the Giant Oyster activity).

Just ideas, but those are some hot-takes on potential expansions on your suggestions. It’s reasonable that some of them would be difficult to implement.

Thanks for the input @Texerish!

The idea of tokens awarded for participation, and hand in for reward could fit in well.

Since it would be a weekly challenge, I think there should be a daily cap for tokens so everyone has a chance to participate on the days/times they can play, without having 1 or 2 people complete the entire challenge, leaving nothing for clannies that come on later in the day or week to accomplish.

This was just an idea I had to try to get clans to accomplish things together outside the Citadel, without having to plan an event. Events are usually set time and place and usually can't accommodate everyone from all world time zones. A weekly challenge still allows for people to try to work together at the same time, but anyone not able to make an actual event time can still contribute.

The clan rewards are what I'm still stuck on though. With upkeep being so drastically reduced last winter, there isn't much call for skill plot resources, except for lower tiers that have a lot of build orders they want to get through.

I'll keep thinking and if anyone else wants to write up a better proposal, feel free : )
