This is based off of an idea I came up with in November 2016 (which can be found here )

I don't know if any of this is possible at all.

When you log into the RSOF and are in a clan, under 'Specialist Forums' could be a new section called 'My Clan'. When you click it and go inside, there you would find your clans private forum, with all the formatting that's available here on the RSOF (our private forums have next to no formatting available)

Inside would be whatever the clan chooses, as it would be self moderated, and like the current clan private forums, posts would be reportable only to jagex.

The owner would have all abilities when it comes to moderation of the forum, such as hiding posts, locking/stickying threads. having threads where all posts are only visible by people above X rank. (possibly more), with the owner being able to choose who (either by rank, or person) also has these abilites.

Having the clan private forums located on the RSOF could potentially make people visit other sections of the forum, which, with the RSOF not as busy as it used to be, it would be a great boost to the forum community if some of them become regular posters.

I've yet to think about how long unsickied threads would last (currently it's 2 weeks with no new posts), how many threads would be allowed at once and if this would negate the need for the 'clan home' forum.

All feedback, positive or negative is welcome :)

I'm not sure if it'd be possible for Jagex to do that due to technical issues, but I think this would be terrific.

Some benefits right off the top of my head:

* Makes Clan Forums easier to find for first-timers
* Clan Forums become more accessible
* Gives Clan Forums the same tools as the rest of the RSOF
* Encourages use of the RSOF instead of offsites
* Members wouldn't have to feel uncomfortable registering with a shoddy clan site that may or may not be safe.

Something to tag onto your idea of Clan Leaders having Moderation powers in their Clan Forum: The ability to write your own Forum Specific Rules for your Clan's Forum. Also because they would be private forums you'd need special access for, a Clan's Forum could have different and/or more relaxed rules than the rest of the RSOF - assuming that's what the leader wants.

A forums section is possible to make,

The problem is the amount of usage it will have with the amount of clans making such a section. In addition you can't moderate your own section as only Fmods/Jmods have the ability to lock a thread for example.

If it can be done I will fully support it.

cant remember when but at some point in time probably about 5 or 6 years ago we were meant to be getting the ability to rename and lock our own threads

As Ignore List stated, Not sure if it can be done, but you have my full support if it can be. I can see something like this being quite useful.

Honestly? The clan forums need a full rework. They. are. terrible.

Here's some reasons why:

Delete a thread after 2 weeks of inactivity if it's not stickied
Only allow 5 posts to be stickied at once
In an incredibly inaccessible location
Outdated. Literally no updates there since they were released (as far as I know. If there have been any changes, nothing major)
Little to no proper formatting.
I believe, and tell me if I'm wrong, that the character limit is a lot lower than a normal post?
No way to edit titles, to lock it, to allow only certain ranks to add posts (you may be able to limit threads to certain ranks, it's been so long since I used it but I seem to remember that, but how about making it so you can set rank visibility AND rank to post on it).

if it were implemented, it would replace the forums clans have now, there would be an increased usage, but if you limit the amount of threads able to be made (atm i think it's 200 per clan forum) it shouldn't put strain on the website.

As for moderation, because it would be a forum section only visible to members of your clan, Fmods would have no way of accessing it.

lets say it is 200 - thats 200 threads per clan, and there are a heck of a lot of clans.

In your original post you said about owners moderating their clan forum section - I was referring to that aspect, we as "normal" forum users don't have any moderation tools as only fmods and jmods do.

In addition specific forum permissions for example can't be granted either. (For example Fmods in CLF/HLF have the ability to lock threads but have been asked not to).
