Accessing citadel/black screen

So I've been away from the game for a while, but have come back and am currently playing on an alt.

When trying to access my clan's citadel on both that and this account, I get the infamous black screen, "loading - please wait" bug that seems to have been around since citadels' initial release.

I have already reached out to Jagex Support via ticket to discuss this issue, who responded by suggesting things I told them I'd already tried and fixes for an OS I told them I'm not using... so I'm trying here, where I hope Maz and other clan-focussed JMods still frequent, or even other tech-minded clan leaders who might have suggestions beyond the list below I've already tried...

- mixing/lowering graphics settings
- trying from a different world
- trying both "teleport" and "quick teleport"
- updating OS (none found)
- can't update drivers as that's not how Macs work
- clearing cache
- reinstalling client

What on earth is the solution for this bug? What else can I try?

I have this happen sometimes but not all the time.

When i get that black screen of death at citadel i have to "X" out of the game as it wont even let me just log out correctly.

I then have to log back in go back into citadel and it works properly. I have no idea why its like this for me.

Just something i deal with. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.

Thanks Lake. I've tried this (mostly because I have no option but to 'x' out) and it never works on the second, third, fourth, etc. go as some other people have described. :(

It magically started working today, because reasons!

As long as it doesn't stop working again next week, we're good.

so if you enter citadel the screen is black. this means the device your using it on cant access the citadel graphics from the world your in. the way to counter this is by closing the application and joining the world the game decides for you and entering the citadel through that world. cake owner
